My in-laws can no longer drive so we're taking care of selling their full-sized, loaded 2005 Ford Five Hundred LIMITED with less than 85,000 miles. Thanks to COVID the car has barely been driven over the last few years. Registered until 3/14/2022.
CARFAX gives a private party value range of $4140-$5120, but my wife and I would like to sell it quickly and want to avoid any hassles or haggling, so we're going to let her go to the first party that comes up with $3300 IN CASH . No cashiers checks or any other type of payment will be accepted. At this price and with the current used car shortage we assume she'll sell very quickly, so we're not going to sell her for less. Please don't waste our time or yours if you're unwilling to pay what we are asking or expect to haggle on the price! As you can see in one of the pictures, we're even throwing in a full tank of gas (worth close to $100). This is already an incredible deal! The car is located in Pleasanton.
UPDATE: If you are serious about buying the car then you must respond to this posting with more than a phone number and a request for me to call you! The whole point of selling her for a low price is to avoid hassles. I won't respond to people that don't spend enough time to tell me who they are, or show any real interest in buying this specific car.
ABOUT THE CAR
The car was purchased from, and serviced by Frontier Ford in Santa Clara. True to form, my aerospace engineer father-in-law saved all of the records. This car has been meticulously maintained. The Five Hundred is considered a full-sized car (it was the replacement for the Ford Taurus in 2005), but it actually has a shorter wheelbase and is only a few inches longer than the current Accord. It's certainly not "full-sized" like an old-school Lincoln Town Car or Cadillac, and it doesn't drive like one. To me it feels like a mid-sized with a very roomy interior. With that said, she may not be for you if you need a compact car.
The only real negative I can find are a few trouble spots with the original paint. It is a 17-year-old car and has been parked outside, so it's not surprising she could use a fresh coat. Nothing that can't be sanded out before painting, and with our climate you could probably get away with doing nothing about it for a while. Please see the pictures.
Other than the trouble spots on the paint the car looks and runs great, and I would rate the condition of the rest of the car as "excellent ". While driving the car home I was impressed with how much oomph the engine delivered in town and while passing on the freeway; she drives real nice. The tires look new (one is new because I picked up a bolt driving it home and had to replace the tire). The very roomy black leather interior is in near-perfect condition and can accommodate very tall drivers (my father-in-law is 6 foot 5).
This is the rare top-of-the-line LIMITED model that comes with all of the luxury goodies:
• Power glass moonroof
• Audiophile™ Sound System w/ subwoofer, AM/FM,6-disc in-dash CD+MP3 changer
• Heated leather front bucket seats, 8-way power and memory on the driver’s side
• 4-way power front passenger fold-down seat w/manual lumbar
• Analog clock w/sweeping hand in instrument panel
• Power mirrors, chrome, folding, heated with memory and security approach lamps
• Fog lamps
• Front-wheel drive w/ 6-speed: 21 city/29 highway
• Huge trunk with 21.2 cubic feet of storage.
