Vehicle Description
For sale is Goldie, my 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD with the 2.8 Diesel engine made by VM Motori. It's been my trusty rig, kicked ass during Snowmageddon 2019 and has never let me down. It's been used but not abused. Alas, my family is growing and I need to move on to something with more space. It's been a good run, but it's time to move on.
I am the third owner and have always done oil changes every 5k miles using synthetic.
Current mileage is 159xxx.
Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly with this Jeep:
The Good:
- Solid running 2.8L turbo diesel, amazing torque
- Green Diesel Engineering Hot Tune, with EcoTune on stand by
- EGR Deleted
- Upgraded Suncoast Torque Converter (No TC Shudder)
- Mann Provent cleanly installed (prevents oil from recirculating back into the turbo)
- Aftermarket HDS model 001 - 202 degree thermostat and housing. Allows vehicle to run at ideal temperature.
- Turbo replaced at 135K miles
- 2" old man EMU lift kit
- 245/75/r16 Cooper Discoverer All terrain tires with ~75% tread left
- Recently replaced U joints
- Comes with roof rack and super bright/x-ray vision light bar, absurdly bright
- Comes with rear carry rack that attaches to tow hitch
- New battery, replaced winter 2019
- New fuel filter, replaced August 2019
- Aftermarket stereo with blutooth, subwoofer. Solid sound, if you're into that kind of thing.
- Aftermarket air filter/intake
- Custom carry rack on top
- Freshly changed oil
The Bad:
- Needs new tie rods and ball joints
- Slight turbo lag/hesitation when accelerating quickly after sudden slow down. Not a big concern, again it runs great.
- Small things. The "2" setting doesn't work on the heater/AC (annoying). The tow harness needs replaced (partially works). One small dash light is out. One fog light is out. The key fob needs a battery.
- Very slight driveline vibration at 45mph due to the lift angle.
- When braking and turning left downhill, there is a slight rubbing. Something with the brakes, not sure.
- It's due for a transmission flush/filter replacement.
The Ugly
- Large paint chip and paint fading on hood (pictured) and some spots flaking around passenger side door handles
- Three small dents on tailgate, previous owner backed into something
- A couple of stains on the seats, otherwise clean interior
- Small oil leak coming from engine
Quite honestly I'm swamped at work and with a new baby on the way. I just don't have time to
give Goldie the time she deserves. I'm moving on.
