Vehicle Description
Up for sale is my beloved black-on-black 2005 SLK55 AMG. Just passed 96k miles, and no issues whatsoever. With a naturally aspirated M113 engine and coil-over-spring suspension, this car delivers all the excitement and refinement of an AMG without the typical sacrifices of reliability and huge looming repair bills. This particular example is in excellent condition, with recent service items including...
Within the past 2,000 miles:
Rear tires (Michelin PS4S, the new version of the Pilot Supersport), valve cover gaskets, engine air intake filters and cabin filters, trunk wiring harness replacement (common failure from a wiring pinch-point), transmission fluid and transmission fluid filter with OEM fluids and parts.
Within the past 500 miles:
Engine mounts and transmission mounts, oil and filter change (Mobil-1 full synthetic as always), lubrication of Vario top mechanism/seals/gaskets, rear brake pads, new battery (Duracell Ultra with 2 year warranty), front brake pads and rotors (rotors are OE Bremo 2-piece drilled and slotted - if you are familiar with the R171 AMG, you may recognize that this last item is huge, as the front rotors for this car are oddly sized and hard to come by - list price for these rotors is $650 each).
I’m sure there are other service items that I’m not recalling offhand. Service records will be included with the car. The car will also come with a fitted outdoor car cover (CoverKing Stormproof) and a new-in-the-box FlowMaster X-Pipe which I never installed.
No accidents, no liens; clean and clear title in hand - only reason for sale is I recently bought a Ducati and am not driving this enough to justify holding onto it at this point.
Asking price is fairly firm given the fact that the car has received nearly $4k in maintenance from a qualified independent shop over the past year. Feel free to email with any questions or to set up a time to come see the car.
