Vehicle Description
2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
4 Cylinder 2.0 litre Turbo Diesel
151,000 miles very low for 2006
Black leather interior
4,000 miles on tires
Tow Hitch
New MAF sensor, New Air filter, New heater hose, engine coolant flush, brake fluid flush, fresh synthetic oil, new oil pan.
Clean New Mexico title and Registration until May 2023
Car runs and starts cold every day.
The Bad:
Camshaft rod has rounded out on the fourth cylinder, camshaft will have to be replaced to prevent further damage.
Timing belt will also have to be replaced soon after or during camshaft replacement.
Sunroof motor is out.
This Jetta is essentially running on 3 and a half cylinders and still gets 36 mpg in the city. I do field IT support for small business and use this vehicle to drive sometimes 15-20 miles per weekday.
This car had been parked for 3 years in the sun in east New Mexico and the clear coat is visibly worn away on the hood, trunk and roof sides.
Mechanic quoted me around $2200 in parts and labor. I used to work on VW's but i'm a lazy IT guy now, this is a VW Mechanic's medium difficulty job (very tedious and detailed job though) to have a long lasting german diesel turbo.
