Vehicle Description
2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI auto w/ 189k miles.
The car starts right up (battery is <1 year old) and transmission shifts great. I bought it in 2016 with 100k miles and used it strictly for a long commute. I have a stack of receipts and service records from the years I owned it. Changed the oil/filter with Amsoil every 10k miles and I did the air and fuel filters every 20k. I do have the title on hand (Rebuilt title).
The timing belt was replaced at 135k
Transmission service was done at 140k
Front brakes were done at 182k
As for the bad:
- Rear brakes are overdue and need to be done
- Tires are due for replacement
- There is a slow coolant leak. I started looking into it and from a quick look round it appears to be coming from where a hose is connected at the radiator but I can't say for certain
- The A/C is not working
- One of the front fenders is starting to bubble up some rust (the other was replaced by the previous owner so its in great shape)
- Rockers are rusting as well
I do have a second set of rims with snow tires on them that are in decent shape, I have 2 winters on them so they're not brand new but should be good for another season or two.
This car is pre-emissions and I would routinely get 45+ mpg on my commute.if I tried I could squeeze out 50 mpg. I actually kept a log of every fuel fill up that you can have if you want to see how it did.
I had planned to just hold on to this and fix what needs fixing to have a high MPG car with price of fuel going up.but I am provided a company vehicle now and don't use this at all. With a little money and effort Im confident it can be a perfect high MPG commuter for another 100k+
Asking $1500. Call, text or email is ok. Not really interested in trades but try me, worst I can say is no.
