Vehicle Description
I purchased this 2007 Honda Fit Sport as my first “new” car ever. I was technically the second owner, but bought it when it only had 6,000 miles on it in 2008. Since that day in 2008, this car has become like an old friend to me. Please send an email first if you’re interested and we’ll set up a test drive ASAP. Also, I have the Experian AutoCheck report available upon request.
WHY I’M SELLING:
Simply put, I got a new job and was just ready for a new car. Funny story though — I bought a brand new Honda Fit!!! Hahah...I loved this 2007 so much that I bought another one.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE CAR:
I love the handling on this car. You may laugh, but it handles really tight and it’s fun to drive. I love the sound system in this car. It has an AUX jack and the Sport model (this is the Fit Sport) has a beefed up sound system with extra speakers. I wrIte and record music professionally and would always check my mixes in this car. Seriously, it doesn’t make sense but music sounds fantastic in this car. Finally, this car can fit an unreal amount of crap inside of it! You can fold the back seats flat and it becomes like a mini minivan.
STORY TIME:
I moved from Canton to Nashville in 2010 and everything I owned fit into this deceptively roomy car. Multiple guitars, a full sized keyboard, all of my clothes and more. This Fit moved me to Nashville, gave me great gas mileage during the countless trips I made back home over the years — to Canton and back to Nashville. It took me to many gigs all across the Midwest. It eventually took me to my first date with my future wife, transported me to Ohio for our wedding, and even held 3 baby showers’ worth of gifts as we made the trek back to Nashville. I couldn’t help but feel sentimental as I made the journey from Nashville to Ohio one last time last week. The car was running almost as good as new, cruise control and AC were perfect.
POSITIVES WORTH NOTING:
- Brand new windshield. It was cracked and we got it fixed before selling it
- Brand new battery. Didn’t want any issues, so we replaced it before selling
- Brand new spark plugs and ignition coils (see below for more on the ignition coils)
ISSUES WORTH NOTING:
I’m not here to be deceptive. I hate the nerves that come with buying a used car. You can never know if someone is being completely honest or not. So, here goes my attempt at being completely honest...
- There is a spot on the back corner of the car (driver’s side) where the paint chipped and then it started rusting a little bit. You can see it in the photos I posted. I tried sealing it up once but only made it look a little worse. I’m sure someone with a little more motivation than I had could come up with an easy solution to seal it.
- There is a slow drip of transmission fluid from in the driver’s side front of the car. I know where it’s coming from. It is NOT a transmission issue. I replaced the front axle a few years ago and didn’t know there was a little annoying clip (on the end of the axle that goes into the transmission) that I didn’t line up perfectly. I didn’t feel like doing the job again, so I just lived with a slow drip and topped it off every couple of months.
ANY ACCIDENTS?:
The answer is technically “yes.” Back in 2012, I was rear ended twice within 4 months. No airbags were deployed and repairs were completed through insurance. I drove the car for 7 years after that with no issues.
FINAL REMARKS:
Can you tell I’m sad to let this car go? Well, I am. It’s at 177k miles and I always imagined I’d drive it until it died...or at least get somewhere well into the 250k+ range before selling it. I would love to see my old friend go to a good home. Are you the perfect successor?
