Vehicle Description
2007 SAAB 97-x 5.3 engine. 13X,000 miles
Lots of options: All wheel drive, New Brakes, New Battery, New spare tire undercarriage assembly, New water pump, Spark plugs changed 10,000 miles ago. Rear Entertainment system, Ice cold A/C, BOSE sound system, Air suspension (self-leveling for towing) with a nifty external outlet and hose to pump up tires or toys. Sunroof, Leather seats (still smell new) and the exterior and interior look fantastic for this age vehicle. HID lights.
All 100,000 mile servicing was done including Transmission flush, Radiator flush, belt changes.
Now time for full disclosure:
SUV has ABS, Traction control and Stabilitrak. The Stabilitrak sensor (probably in the steering wheel shaft) sometimes loses its mind and activates the system briefly and then stops. Its annoying so I pulled the fuse. This lite up the ABS and Traction control dash lights and the ABS and Traction control systems still work fine. Common GM problem for this year.
The gas gauge level sensor is bad (common issue) and the gas gauge sporadically works. $80 part but I used the trip odometer to know when to fill up.
The AFM lifter on Cylinder #6 is bad. Again, a common problem and was a recall but no one honors SAAB recalls anymore. So I put in an OBDII chip that send the system a message to stay in all 8 cylinders so there is not an active issue with AFM bypass lifter. It was a really bad GM design. The regular Non-AFM lifter is just fine and the only issue is when engine idles for a while, it catches the occasional cyl 6 misfire and lights up the dash light. Also when this happens the adaptive transmission will shift hard going from first to second a time or two.
Lastly, the starter died. I have a new starter that I will throw in with the deal. You’ll have to have this towed to wherever you want it and this is reflected in the price I’ve set here. Or you could try the “tap the starter” while turning the key to get it going and then you can drive it home.
Clearly, if you’re handy and looking for a once in a lifetime deal on a beautiful SUV that needs some mechanical TLC, this is it. The ride is fantastic, the power is plentiful and seats are the best and I towed 6500 lbs no problem with this. All interior electrics and electronics work perfectly.
Asking $1600 as is. Two keys included, title in hand. More photos available on requests. First one with cash gets it, no holds, no bargaining, no trades. I do not finance.
