Vehicle Description
Selling my beloved 2007 Subaru Forester. It's been a trusty companion for many a mountain adventure, but I'm getting married and my fiancee and I are upgrading to a newer vehicle.
It's a fantastic AWD mountain car - great in the snow. Good clearance for back roads. Compact SUV - small but can carry you and your friends and their gear or a load of lumber. The low center of gravity of the Subaru boxer engine gives it nice handling characteristics - it feels low to the ground and sticks to the curves. Like most Subarus it feels a little underpowered when trying to accelerate uphill on the highway, but that never bothered me.
Defects (shown in the pictures):
- Dents on left and right front fenders
- Cracked plastic panel under left front wheel well
- Small dent in middle of hood, and some small rust spots on front of hood
- Crack across the bottom of the windshield
- Wheels and lug nuts have some rust
Defects not shown in the pictures:
I believe it burns some oil and coolant. This is common with Subarus of this era, when they get around 100,00 miles (I started noticing it around 110,000 miles). It may need a head gasket replacement.
Has nearly new summer tires (Bridgestone Ecopia for improved gas mileage - it gets around 27-28mpg)
Optional: I can include 4 winter tires which have been used for 1 season (Bridgestone Blizzak) for an additional $400. These are fantastic winter tires - the car just won't slip, even when I tried intentionally to get it to slip.
*Please note*
This car has a salvage title. That means it was previously in an accident where the insurance company deemed it "not financially worth fixing" and sold it off rather than repair the damages. This often happens when the cost to repair cosmetic damages is high, even if there is no structural or other damage. It was purchased at auction by my neighbor, who does bodywork on cars with salvage titles. I was able to inspect it in its damaged condition (before the repairs) so I am confident about the car's history and the reason for the salvage title. It was in a minor front right collision that damaged several body panels, the hood, headlight, etc, and partially crumpled the front right crumple-zone (the crumple component was replaced). I might be able to dig up the pictures of the vehicle before the repair if that's important to you.
