Vehicle Description
I purchased this car from a friend who bought it back in 2010- it was very well maintained and has several rare options.
The highly desirable Yamaha V8 produces a ton of power, and is very reliable compared to the other engines Volvo used on the XC90. 3rd row seats, heated seats, sunroof, and the Dynaudio sound system as well as Rivamat self leveling rear suspension make it a great spec.
When I took possession of it, I fixed all the issues that commonly fail on these cars to make sure it was reliable. I have been driving it daily 60+ miles for the last 8 months and taken it on several trips to Chicago.
Recent Maintenance ($5k worth of maintenance)
Front brake pads and rotors
Brake fluid flush
Cabin/Engine filter
Oil change
Belt and tensioner
Radiator and fan
Front upper stabilizer bar mounts
AC control module
Clock spring
New tires
Brake position switch
Front lower control arms
Front struts
Tie rod end links
Ball joints
New tires
Trans fluid change
Tailgate handle replaced
Wiper blades
New windshield
New back glass
Pros
No warning lights on
All electronics including AC and heat work
Runs and drives very well- reliable for long trips
Cons
Could use an alignment
Engine leaks oil- its a high mileage Volvo, it's going to leak oil, and it's not worth fixing the leak as it never runs low between oil changes
Various minor dings/scrapes on the body
Rear view mirror has some fading, common issue
Overall this car would be great for someone who needs a lot of space with the 3rd row, or excellent towing power. It's extremely quiet and smooth on the highway. You might be able to find cheaper XC90's available, but none with these options or extensive recent repair list.
