Vehicle Description
For sale is our 2008 4-door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. We have been the only owner since the Jeep had 11,000 miles on it.
This is a solid vehicle, there isn't anything wrong with it. I would drive it to Colorado tomorrow if I needed to. Why am I getting rid of it? I bought a new Bronco and it's taken the place of this Jeep that we no longer get out in much anymore. We used it primarily as a "getting out in the evening" vehicle the past few years. It has been garage kept it's entire life, most of it with the doors and top off (as a Jeep should be). We are non-smokers and our dogs don't ride in it. We leave it with the doors and top off and jump in it to run to the store, or an evening ride up to the lake for sunset or to dinner somewhere. But it isn't just a mall queen. I've also done some serious crawling with it. It's been to Hot Springs many times, Barnwell Mountain in Gilmer, Southwest Colorado for the entire Alpine Loop twice, Moab twice (driven to/from), southern Oklahoma and central Texas on a Jeep Jamboree. It has been and still is a very capable vehicle. What we don't do is mud. Sure, if there is mud on the trail I am on I'll go through it but I don't search out the deepest mud holes I can find to punish it unnecessarily. We don't do that. I have made no modifications or repairs whatsoever to the drivetrain of the Jeep. None. I didn't need to. The lockers both work, the sway bar disconnect is still fully functional, all of it's OEM functionality is still intact and unmodified. It even has it's original axles. The transfer case both 4 high and 4 low are flawless. The engine oil and filters have been maintained to factory spec by a service center in White Oak. It drives straight down the road at interstate speed with no death wobble. It tracks perfectly. The only mods I have done is added some personal touches that enhanced it's already beefy performance. Accessories that come with the Jeep when it is purchased from me are listed below with some description if necessary:
2" Old Man Emu suspension lift. Original OME shocks still installed.
Nitto 35" Trail Grapplers with plenty of tread left. Rotated appropriately.
I installed wheel spacers and I don't remember if they are 1" or 1.5". Either way they've been installed for 10 years and never caused any trouble. They bring the factory wheels out to a nice width under the factory fender flares.
I have two 1" front end lift spacers that take the factory cant (dip) out of the front end but they aren't installed.
Factory hardtop-black (all hardware)
Factory soft top-black (all hardware)
Aftermarket Safari top that covers the front and rear rows of seats. Similar to a bikini top but longer. It does attach to the front window and side door channels for a very tight fit.
Dirty Dawg rear cargo net in Olive Drab seen in pictures. We only used it for the look. People say it looks like the Jurassic Park jeeps.
Poison Spyder stubby front bumper powder coated in rough matte black.
Smittybilt XRC10 winch with synthetic cable and Hawse fairlead. Works like it should. Hardly used. Remote included.
Factory fog lights are built into the front bumper but I have the LED versions that I never installed.
LED aftermarket headlights. Huge improvement.
LED light bar mounted on front bumper hoop.
Aftermarket hood hold down latches. Ever driven 75mph with the factory hold downs? Scary.
Red front grab handles mounted on the pillar next to windshield. I also have some preowned grab handles that wrap around the rollbar I will throw in.
Kenwood stereo with flat screen installed by Big Daddy's in Longview. Includes Apple Carplay, navigation (from phone) and handsfree mic. All factory speakers work including the rear factory subwoofer.
Several years ago I had an aftermarket electric lock system installed that I can't say still works or not. I haven't tried it lately. I do have both sets of key fobs that came with the unit. It was installed by Big Daddy's in Longview.
The factory seat covers have hardly seen the light of day since purchase. We had a set of Wet Okole seat covers initially, then when those wore out we immediately installed the current custom fit covers from TrekArmor khaki canvas. They are a challenge to get off so we have left them on (pictures included). There is some use to those covers, mild water (rain) stains but nothing bad.
Poison Spyder rear stubby bumper in matching powder coat as front.
Rear LED reverse lights. Both functional.
Spare tire is original from factory, still good, always covered with a Jeep tire cover.
Smiley face Jeep tire cover. Super cool.
A well used rubber/plastic mat in rear cargo area of Jeep. The carpet underneath is in good shape.
All spare tire changing tools, jack, etc still in place, never used.
Air conditioning/heating system works perfectly. All fan speeds are functional.
I will edit this ad with some interior pictures of the Jeep, I took these last weekend and didn't think to include the interior. My bad.
In all honesty I hate to see this part of our family go but it's time to let somebody else have fun with it.
If you are looking for a Jeep that isn't brand new but still in great shape (I've owned six over the past 15 years, I know Jeeps), this might be the one you are looking for. I'll even spend time with you on installing/uninstalling the tops and doors.
I won't haggle on the price. I know what this is worth and it is priced fairly. If the price is too high, don't bother calling I don't have to sell it. If I have no interest after some amount of time I might lower then but I think this unit will sell quickly.
Any other questions or want to test drive, let me know. Clear title in hand.
