Vehicle Description
Hello! Thanks for taking a look at my 08 Porsche Cayman.
I purchased this car in 2015/16 at Imports Unlimited in Wallingford, CT (
They are a highly reputable dealership specializing in rebuilt title vehicles, and offer a lifetime warranty on any issues that relate to the reason the car was totaled. This cayman is exceptionally clean mechanically and has had absolutely no rebuilt-title "horror stories" in the 30,000+ miles I've owned and driven it.
I'm the 3rd owner of the car. It was sold and registered to its first owner in 2008 at Porsche North Houston in Texas. The 2nd owner purchased in 2012, and it was written off as water damaged in 2015 before sold at auction to Imports Unlimited.
In the six years I've owned this car, it's been an absolute joy and my the most reliable car in my collection. Having spent half of its life in Texas, the car is very clean mechanically and free from the pervasive New England rust. It has always been garaged on a trickle charger, summer and winter. I've had no electrical issues or gremlins whatsoever, and the car has never once left me stranded.
Zbylut motor works in Amherst, MA has been my go to indie shop and has kept the car by the book. In addition to routine oil service every 5k, they've performed full fluid, spark plug, and filter services for this car. We did a starter motor in 2016 and a full brake refresh in 2018. All service receipt documents will be provided with the car.
The car drives like a dream. I test drove this car on a whim whilst in the market for a 911 and fell totally in love. The 987's midengine layout provides a precise, nimble driving experience that is unlike any other. I have never had more fun on a windy road than with this car. The color / interior combination is unique and the 245hp 2.7L flat 6 is pure automotive bliss to wind out. Engine pulls strong and sounds great, and the transmission shifts smooth and quiet. Brand new battery as of 2021.
75k is a service interval and I suspect the car will need a suspension refresh around then, or sooner if you're the proactive type. There's a bit of clunking on the front right side. Still handles great but will be like a brand new car with a suspension refresh.
The car is pretty much bone stock. Swapped the two tone tail lights out for the all-red style, OEM Porsche. LED front bumper spurs are installed now, I have the OEMs and they're easy to swap out. Selling it with the 17in stock rims, they have blizzak snow tires on. I'm keeping the 19s for my next p-car.
