Vehicle Description
Background Information
For sale is my 2008 Subaru Legacy 3.0R. The car color is Harvest Gold Metallic with warm ivory leather interior. I am the only and original owner and purchased the car from Stohlman Subaru of Tysons in February of 2009.
Since purchase, I have been performing nearly all the maintenance on the car. This excludes any required trips to the dealer for recall work.
The paint is in overall great condition, especially for the age. I had a 3M clear bra installed nearly immediately after purchase. The portion on the hood was removed as it had failed badly but there is still coverage on the door handles, side mirrors, headlights and lower front bumper. Since this was only designed to last about 10 years, it does look like its age. Thankfully with the color of the car it blends with the bra nicely.
The car has a clean title and was only bumped in the rear bumper once which needed some minor paint work.
This year of 3.0R only came with one trim. Not until 2009 did the 3.0R have a Limited trim available. Some notable items to mention the car includes:
• Bilstein Sport Suspension, inverted struts (Original)
• Dedicated Summer and Winter setup
o Summer (these are on the original 18” wheels) – Firehawk Indy 500 - Size: 215/45R18
o Winter (Wheels are from a 4th gen base legacy) – Continental Viking Contact - Size: 215/50/17
• GrimmSpeed Master Cylinder Brace
• JDM Engine Cover pieces (multiple)
• SpecB Aluminum Lower Control Arm – Front
• Remanufactured Subaru Calipers (Front & Rear) completely rebuilt and painted with multiple coats of G2 Caliper Paint ~ A year ago
• Drilled & Slotted rotors (Front & Rear) ~ A year ago
• Subaru Armrest extension
• Subaru XM radio kit
• Subaru All Weather Floor Mats
• Stainless Steel Brake Lines
• RCA Video Cable Hookup to Navigation Screen
• HID Headlights - Xenon Depot
• Daytime Running Lights – Disabled, can be undone IIRC
• AGM Battery Installed 9/2019
• Resealed Oil Pan ~ two years go. All new fasteners were used
• Fumoto Oil Drain Valve
• Covercraft fitted sunshade
• Rally Armor Mud Flaps
• Kenwood Microphone for Voice Commands (along with push button)
• Wide angle side mirrors - blue tinted
I typically change my oil every 4000 miles using Castrol 5w-30. I just recently switched to Mobil 1 High Mileage Full Synthetic about a year ago (same weight) and either use Mahle or Wix filters. The differential and transmission fluids are also changed on a more-than-suggested interval.
I'm posting this car for sale as I recently moved to an all-electric daily driver. I already have multiple cars in the household and could use the extra space.
Extras Included
There are some extra bits that I have but not yet installed.
• Rear aluminum rear trailing arms and other pieces
• Knuckle assembly
• New coolant pipe
The not-so-good
This is where I am completely honest about the car and lay out everything I know to be less-than-ideal. Again, the car is nearly 15 years old but based on the age she has clearly been well cared for.
• The transmission pan should be resealed. The last time I was under her, I think I saw I little bit of seepage long the pan.
• There are some points on the body that are not perfect. I will include pictures of them for complete transparency.
o Rear bumper – paint scratch from being tapped during parking
o Rear bumper – slight paint peeling from repaint from above
• TPMS light is on. I have no idea if this is a bad sensor(s) or something else.
• The A/C is cold, but not as cold as it use to be. On the hottest days it has trouble keeping up.
• I used some hose clamps to stop a heat shield rattle
Notable Mentions
I am a bit anal retentive with certain things when it comes to my vehicles. For example, I always park far away, only use touchless car washes, only use top tier gasoline, and make sure to wash/wax/detail my car as much as needed. This may or may not mean anything to you, but it is a testament to the ownership and treatment of the car.
Closing Thoughts
To be honest, if the car isn’t sold I have zero problems continuing to drive her.
