Vehicle Description
For sale by private owner is a 2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited.
This is a fully loaded model with every single option available. The car is is amazing mechanical condition and I've had regular service completed to it since I've owned it for the last 2 years.
The vehicle is a clean title and has only 150,000 miles. (milage will go up as its my daily driver)
Pros:
-Synthetic oil change every 3,000 miles (verified by Valvoline and Carmax)
- The motor is in excellent condition, no oils leaks, new belts, new spark plugs, no weird sounds.
- CVT transmission runs perfect, had transmission service and flush 2 months ago (verified by Valvoline and Carmax)
- Suspension is original but in excellent condition, never been off road or bad roads, no squeaks or bumping sounds.
- Electrical components work as they should, no issues and no codes
- All windows go up and down, all power door locks work, navigation works (updated to 2020 maps)
- Amazing JBL original sound system, very good sound, I added an AUX to Bluetooth adapter and its plugged in to AUX and power. You can stream music/youtube right from your phone. Also has a 4 disc cd changer that plays regular cds and mp3 cds.
- Most unique thing about this car is the steering wheel, I love wood and I had a the steering wheel custom made for this car, it took 4 months and shipped from Taiwan. No other highlander in USA has this feature. All buttons on the steering wheel as they should and air bag is fully operational. The steering wheel is the same design as the original one, with real wooden inserts. Matches the shifter.
- Third (3rd) row seats fold up and down without any issues and are very convenient when transporting extra kids.
Actual mpg 20-24 in the city, and 28-32 on the highway when using 91 gas. I only fill up with 91, it burns at a higher temp and allows you to get better performance and better fuel efficiency.
Cons:
- Front passenger window, when fully raised makes a metal hitting metal sound. Its either the motor or the lever actuator, I don't use the windows so I never fixed it.
- The rear door is automatic and goes up and down, sometimes when going down it will make a noise.
- The rear wing above the gate, the clear coat faded
- The car's exterior has some scratches and that is to be expected from a 2008 car, I had a quote from a dentless repair/mobile body shop that quoted me $500 for the entire car to look brand new. They mentioned they would sand down the scratches, use original paint, and clear coat the area to match with older paint. I can share his number with the buyer.
Overall the car is in amazing condition mechanically and electronically. The body does have some scratches but that's normal for a 14-year-old car.
If you are looking for a gas-saving SUV with a 3rd-row seat, that is fully loaded, and you don't mind some scratches – you found it.
If you are concerned about cosmetics and will try to make me lower the price, this will not work. I know what I have, I know what the market says about my car and I know what it's worth.
This is a very rare vehicle and they don't come on the market very often. I have taken meticulous care of this vehicle. The only reason I'm selling now is because I need a pick up truck, I would not be selling otherwise.
The price is to be discussed in person only, I don't want to hear lowball offers.
