Vehicle Description
This is a rare 2009 Ford Ranger XLT, Manual, 4X4 with low miles (92,000). Mechanically sound and impressively built. It’s currently inspected in VT until next spring/early summer. A safe, reliable and versatile vehicle that still has a lot of performance left...keep it on the road, camp out of it, take it deep out into the wilderness, plow snow with it, use it around the yard...this one is a beaut. The inspection was done by Heritage Ford, so you can be certain it’s in proper working condition.
Three Notes:
1) Their evaluation did determine rust accumulation along both rocker panels, which Heritage Ford stated a rocker panel cover would satisfy. Currently, I’ve mounted metal covers over the rocker panels, but are easily removable and only need to be present at the time of inspection because it has no relation to the structural integrity of the frame...it’s merely cosmetic and can be repaired further for a few hundred dollars and labor.
2) Occasionally, shifting into 1st can be a little stubborn...sometimes it’s super clean and other times it more difficult. This should not be confused with grinding, it ALWAYS engages without flaw, jar or sound! I’m not quite sure why this happens...it wasn’t deemed an issue by Heritage Ford.
3) Lastly, it has a Rebuilt Title.
As mentioned above, it does have a bit of rust buildup, mostly along the rocker panels, a small amount on the drivers side back wheel well, and on the underbelly surface. However, I can't emphasis enough...the frame, drive shaft, and 4x4 are all in excellent condition. It also has an awesome set of arctic claw tires (mud/snow) with plenty of tread left and a tow mount!
Another great aspect about this truck is the cap, a 2019 Ranch high rise ($1400). It's setup perfectly for stealth/backwoods camping with built in screens and a sleeping platform with drawers underneath...could also easily be used for tool or gear storage. I’ll also add in the futon mattress sleeper which fits PERFECTLY snug atop the platform and bed area (it has a washable cover and cooling foam topper)! It can also be rolled up and stored at the front of the shell to utilize cargo capacity.
At only $6,000, this truck will provide summer excursions, boon-docking experiences, and of course reliable winter commuting for many years to come! A great value with so much use and potential.
