Vehicle Description
For sale is our black 2009 Lexus RX350.
Here is how it is equipped: It has a 3.5 liter V6 with 5 speed automatic transmission and all wheel drive. Also, AM/FM/CD, 2 person seat memory, Weather Tech floor mats on all floors including trunk, power sunroof, heated seats, leather seats, mirror memory (I think they are heated, too), steering wheel memory, rear power outlet (in trunk), roof rack, tilt and telescope steering wheel, High Intensity Discharge headlights with 'steering' (Don't know what that's called but they turn to point in the direction you are turning when at low speed), cruise control, wheel locks, original jack and Lexus tool kit in bag, factory navigation system, COLD A/C!
Our car has always been garaged and the paint is brilliant and shiny. I was a Captain for a major airline until I retired recently but I grew up on a farm and I performed 99.9% of the maintenance on this car. As a result, I have no receipts showing maintenance that was performed. I performed oil changes every 3,000 miles and do have a hand written log of those changes ever since we purchased it with about 9,000 miles on it. Every single switch, system and light in/on the car works perfectly. There are no warning lights whatsoever and I don't remember there ever being any (Except for the usual 'Maintenance Required' reminder every 3,000 miles or so). I do have an engine/ODB scanner and, last time I checked about a year ago, it showed no issues.
The good: This car has always started and run absolutely perfectly. We took it on a long road trip 6 months ago throughout the NE US and it drove very smoothly and elegantly. I even learned on that trip that, on looong downhills if you tap the brake, the transmission automatically downshifts a tad and utilizes engine braking (Which I don't like, I'd rather have that wear and tear on the brakes rather than the trans). Our car has a clear title with no liens. It has never been smoked in and has never been in a collision or a flood. The odometer has never been broken or replaced or otherwise monkeyed with. We have 3 keys for the car and 1 of those is a valet key. It passed NY state inspection 5 months ago in August (the tech did say that the right lower ball joint will need to be replaced in a year or so). We have put almost all highway miles on this car and get probably 20-22 mpg. The interior is just about mint condition except.the driver seat has seen better days and has a split on a seam about 1-2" long.
The not as good: We have 177,284 miles on this car. Again, mostly highway miles. But, as one person recently told me "Your Toyota is barely broken in." This car is almost 100% original, almost ~nothing~ has been replaced. Which means it has been extremely reliable but does it mean there are things just waiting to 'go'? Who knows. The tires are at the end of their life and will need to be replaced probably in the next year or so. The spare tire looks barely used but.we noticed a vibration at highway speeds a few years ago and our tech said that a belt had shifted in that tire so it is now stowed as a spare tire (BTW, I lowered that spare a couple weeks ago to check the tire pressure and it was still holding about 30 psi and the tire lowering system for the spare worked perfectly). So, the spare is perfect except for a vibration at highway speeds. I noticed the transmission hesitate just a bit about 50,000 miles ago so changed the transmission fluid again and that went away. There is a small vertical dent about 3-4 inches long in the rear bumper that some kind soul left for us in a parking lot about 8 years ago but we never had fixed. The navigation system works well but we haven't paid for a subscription in probably 10 years so, there's that. When the engine is cold there is a slight 'valve rattle' for about 5 minutes til the engine warms up. And it's been there since new. Not sure it's even an issue but want to report everything I can think of. The left front and right rear wheels have a touch of curb rash from touching curbs.
I have done extensive research and am listing this at $8100 obo.
We are hoping and praying that our car finds a good home. We are just south of Jamestown NY in Warren. Thank you all for looking!
