Vehicle Description
2011 BMW 335D with 98227 miles and a lot of upgrades.
Overall the vehicle is in good very good condition. It has been taken care of very well over its lifetime, and was owned by two former BMW Master Technicians (myself and the previous owner). The interior is in excellent shape for its age with no major blemishes. The exterior is in good shape, but does have some minor wear and tear. Most notably, it has three small dents on the driver side ¼ panel caused by my daughter accidentally hitting it with her bike handle bars while trying to get her bike out of the garage (I tried to capture them in a photo. Would likely come out easily with a paintless dent removal). Other than that, there are some minor scratches, most of which would likely come out with a good detail. No major damage. The wheels have some minor curb rash. The right front is the worth of them, and is shown in a photo.
Features:
- Performance appearance package
- Cold weather package
- I-Drive with navigation (maps were updated in 2017 I think)
- Bluetooth
- Everything else was pretty standard on these I think
Service done:
- Brake pads/rotors/sensors and brake fluid replaced about 2000 miles ago
- Tires replaced about 2000 miles ago
- Oil change done about 500 miles ago
- Battery replaced on October 1, 2019
- Air filter replaced about 2000 miles ago
- Fuel filter replaced about 5000 miles ago
Upgrades done:
- Tint
- Protective wrap on the front bumper, hood, mirror covers and door handles
- EGR delete
- Urea injection system delete
- DPF delete
- Full turbo back exhaust kit by a well-known Bimmerforums member
- Snow Performance Methanol injection kit
- Stage 2+ tune by Bimmer Performance Center
- Upgraded boost pipe
I did these upgrades because the emissions systems on these cars are known to start having issues around 80k miles with carbon build up and component failures… so I just got rid of all of it. The results are a super reliable car with about 515 ft lbs of torque (can get to about 600 by simply swapping to bigger meth nozzles) and I consistently average about 35-38mpg. I am using smaller meth nozzles at the moment because it does a great job of cleaning out the carbon build up. I used the washer fluid tank as the meth reservoir as it’s perfectly placed, and methanol makes an excellent windshield cleaner so it works perfectly.
I haven’t had any issues since all of the upgrades, and the car is super fun to drive. I’ll say the one potential downside (depending on your tastes) is that it does emit some black diesel smoke (commonly referred to as “rolling coal) when you drive aggressively.
I wish I could keep the car, but I’m out of space in the garage and it’s a shame for it to sit unused since I bought its replacement. I’m confident it will be an excellent and enjoyable car for someone for a long time.
Let me know if you need any more photos or have any questions.
