Vehicle Description
This car has been a fantastic vehicle for the last 5 years, but I no longer have my job that required significant highway travel for several years, so we're going to become a single car household.
I purchased the car when I worked in South Dakota as, I believe, the second owner. I spent a lot of time in my car and kept on schedule for all the required and suggested maintenance. Honestly, I'm not sure what most of it meant but when my mechanic told me I was due for a change or flush of some fluid that probably has a purpose, I scheduled the appointment and let them take care of my car so it would continue to take care of me.
I had autostart added to the vehicle which is amazing in the summer to cool the car before you get in, wonderful in the winter to warm the car before you get in, and great all year round to keep the dog in a temperature-controlled space while running in to grab something quick from the store or whatever.
The windows are very nicely tinted in the back, too. I've had several people mention they look too dark and then ride in the back and say they can hardly tell they're tinted from inside. It's great to help keep the car cooler and also to make it more difficult to see valuables sitting on the back seat for anyone walking past or even loitering near the car, it's wonderful!
It has lots of cupholders! There are four within easy reach of the driver, although most are fairly narrow (no way a Nalgene will fit). One in the driver door, two between the driver and passenger, and one behind the center console in the back. The passenger door also has one.
It also has two plugs for car outlet adapters and a 3.5mm headphone jack easily accessible. Great when traveling with a companion to charge multiple devices and to easily swap who's phone is connected the the aux port. Plus the back seats fold down to increase your storage space (we fit up to 8 foot long pieces of wood from the home supply store), either both sides or just one side, and they easily snap back into place.
There are no known issues or problems. I love this car and hope it brings you years of comfortable transportation like it has done for me!
In general, this car is in great shape! But it's not perfect so here's what you want to know about flaws.
- It has never really been involved in an accident. There was once some stop and go traffic on the interstate with about 5 cars entirely stopped behind me and many more stopped in front of me. An inattentive driver in a rental car hit the very back car which hit the next car and so on, mine was the last one touched but it didn't so much as scratch the rear bumper and no repairs were needed (but I was late for the meeting I was attending).
- There is some rust under three of the four doors. It's cosmetic and I'm sure there's a pretty cheap repair if you wanted to do something about it. I believe it was caused by all the snow and salt on the roads in the winter here in the upper Midwest. I would regularly wash my car each winter to keep the salt off the body and underbody but even those little bits build up over time.
- I had a few mechanics look at the air conditioning and all said it was just fine, and my wife says I'm just complaining, but I don't feel like the AC is exceptional. It cools the air and most days it gets the car colder than is comfortable, but on those few REALLY hot days in the summer it feels like it just keeps the air cool. Certainly better than being outside but not the refreshing, walk-in-refrigerator feeling that I enjoy. I've mentioned it to multiple mechanics and none have found anything wrong but still I wanted you to know.
- The window tinting is starting to bubble on the rear window and has a few minor scratches on the rear passenger window. I'm not sure what's causing the rear window but the back passenger window was me hastily loading some stuff in a massive rainstorm and not wanting to get soaked when I slammed the door shut before everything was secure.
- A few minor scratches in the paint and a minor dent in the trunk. The trunk dent is very difficult to notice in real life but seems to stand out in every photograph, haha.
- It has a Kelly Blue Book value up to $5,576 but due to these items and a desire to sell before we move out of our house, we dropped the price to $4,900.
Here are some of the other details:
Black paint and black cloth seats in good condition (there's some wear showing on the driver's seat but there's always going to be someone covering it while you're driving so it's not a big deal; the rear seats were always covered while our pup was in back so they're in excellent condition, heck if you want the seat cover we won't need it and I can toss that in for free, too)
148,593 miles (mostly highway miles between St. Paul and Le Sueur/Lonsdale/Northfield for work over several years)
