Vehicle Description
Hi!
I have a 2012 Mazda Speed 3 hatchback for sale. The Mazdaspeed 3 has a 2.3L turbo charged engine that rivals the Subaru WRX (no AWD unfortunately) matched with a 6 speed manual. MPG rated at 18-25 but I typically average 18 city and 28 highway assuming you stay off the boost. The vehicle has approximately 78k miles and is in great condition. The vehicle does have a salvage title due to a passenger side front end collision. It was repaired by a mechanic in Napa using Mazda parts and inspected here in Santa Barbara. I have pictures of the vehicle before repairs!
I purchased the vehicle from the mechanic in April of this year and am now selling it because my work is offering some great incentives for electric vehicles for a limited time so I am taking advantage of it. The vehicle was stock when purchased.
Here is what I have done to the vehicle:
CP-E Rear motor mount
JBR shifter bushings
Cobb short ram intake - still have stock airbox
Intake valve cleaning
Adapted Performance thermal intake gasket - reusable for future cleaning
Transmission fluid change - Redline MTL
Morimoto xB HID fog lights
The vehicle is in great condition inside and out. The mechanic did a compression test on all 4 cylinders and got a reading of 170-175psi across the board (range is 128-185psi I believe)
I changed the oil with Shell Rotella T6 with a Wix oil filter. I tried the Ford transmission fluid that everyone raves about but it is for the first gen speed 3, doesn't work on gen 2! So I changed it out with Redline MTL and it shifts really well now - no grinds or any harshness.
This car is a lot of fun and I love it but I don't need or have the space for two cars. The major downside of this car is that it has a salvage title - if you are willing to look past that, you can save yourself 4 to 5k as I have seen many 2012 ms3 with similar mileage for 12-14k (with clean titles). A few other cosmetic things that I noticed on the car - a few chips on the front bumper and the previous owner curbed the front wheels/plasti-dipped them.
If interested, please send me an email with your phone number - emails with lowball offers and will you take $xxxx without seeing the car first will be ignored. I am not interested in trades (unless its electric) and I will not ship the car.
Happy to share more pictures and chat about the car! Thanks for looking.
