Vehicle Description
We purchased this Nissan NV2500HD in 2018 and used it for several trips with great success but it is now time for us to pass the project on to the next adventurer. It is in excellent mechanical condition with expected minor wear and tear for its age. It has never been wrecked and has no rust beyond some normal surface scale. When we bought the van at 118k we did a full run of regular service for dependability including all fluids and filters, complete belt system, water pump and thermostat and spark plugs. Since then it has run like a watch and only needed oil services and a new battery last year. It is very enjoyable to drive, especially for a vehicle so large. It is clean, comfortable and quiet and we would not hesitate to drive it across the country today.
When we bought it we did a very basic build out for comfort and convenience. We were not trying to make it an RV and we wanted to maintain a large open space for motorcycle transport and general utility so we focused on the floor, walls and ceiling. It got completely covered in Rattletrap sound deadening and Reflectix insulation, then cedar paneling over 2x4 studs on the walls and ceiling and easily removable carpet over the hard cargo floor. It has dimmable LED lighting, Maxxair Deluxe ceiling fan, and a Norcold refrigerator/freezer. We upgraded to a top tier Sony head unit with backup camera, Car Play/Android Auto, and Bluetooth, and we installed an aftermarket auto lock and alarm system. It also has blackout curtains for the front and sides, as well as a curtain in the rear.
The house power system includes:
Renogy Deep Cycle 200Ah/20HR AGM battery, charged by 110V shore power, alternator, or solar
Renogy 2x 100W Monocrystalline Solar Panels
Renogy 30A PWM Charge Controller
Renogy 1000W Battery Inverter
The house battery functions but should be replaced.
This was our first foray into the van life build-out world and smoother installations have been done, but we used the best quality parts and materials we are able to find for everything from the stereo to the screws. It is in the perfect state for customizing to your needs without having to tear anything out, and it represents a huge amount of value and head start on a build. I shudder to think of how much was spent in the first month on just electronics and cedar - easily $5k.
The truck is located in SE Portland and can be seen by appointment at my auto shop where you can check it out thoroughly, including on a lift if you would like for the best full disclosure buying experience possible. Please email or call with any questions or to make an appointment to see the truck in person.
Clean and clear Oregon title is ready to go.
Please make offers in person after you have seen the truck.
Long distance transactions are not a problem, please call and we can work it out for a serious buyer.
We cannot offer financing but don't mind if you are financing through your own bank.
We are not interested in any trades at this time.
We are in no hurry to sell and need no help selling.
