Vehicle Description
Mechanic special. Have been ignoring the check engine light about a failing turbo for a little while now. Apparently the VW computer really wants a the turbo charger to be operational for those trips to target and the grocery store and to make up for it not working well (or at all), it has slowly been advancing the timing of the car to the point that it is way out of time, misfiring on most cylinders and the one that isn't misfiring is because the computer has disabled it. It does run, but it's rough and you wouldn't want to go far.
I've been told we could replace the turbo, put it back in time, pray for a little luck that the valves have not been bent over trashing the cylinders and pistons, and it could be good for another 200k miles. Another option would be an engine change from a good salvage vehicle. If I had the space with a lift and the time, I would probably just do an engine swap myself and keep the car. I've checked local salvage auction sites and there are several good candidate donor cars to bid on.
Did I mention this car loves to train new drivers? With all the dings, dents, scratches, bumps, and bruises that come with training your teen to drive. This car with a young person behind the wheel will make the BMW hiding on your rear quarter back off when it sees your blinker coms on.
One last thing. This car has nearly brand new brake pads and vented disk rotors. Literally less than 500 miles on the pads and rotors. That's $500 worth of parts value.
If you are a mechanic with the time and the shop to repair and flip, this car is for you. If you are a parent with a kid who has an interest in working on cars and are wanting a project, this car is for you. Price is negotiable, I will consider any reasonable offer on the car.
If nothing else, I hope you have enjoyed this ad, and have a great day!
