2013 BMW X3 MSport xDrive28i with 97K miles.

I have owned this car for approximately 2 years and have been the THIRD owner. First owner purchased the car at BMW of Alexandria and dealer serviced it. Second owner purchased it as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from the dealer as well (along with a $3K+ bumper to bumper warranty lasting through the end of February 2022). I purchased it from the second owner in Sterling VA (garage kept) and had the warranties transferred to me.

The car has been nothing short of great. Came with a very RARE set up of packages including the following (and as shown in the attached window-sticker picture):
- Factory MSRP: $38,500.00
- Carbon Black Metallic: $550.00
- Oyster Nevada Leather (real. not the plastic "pleather" stuff)
- Convenience Package (comfort access keyless entry, rear manual side window shades, xenon headlamps): $1,300.00
- Cold Weather Package (heated steering wheel, 40-20-40 split folding rear seats, heated front seats): $700.00
- M Sport Package (sport suspension, 19" M Alloy Double Spoke Wheels, performance control, high-gloss roof rails, sport seats, fineline sienna wood trim, aerodynamic kit, shadowline exterior trim, anthracite headliner, M steering wheel w/paddles): $3,000.00
- Premium Package (universal garage-door opener, panoramic moonroof, auto-dimming mirrors, auto-dimming rearview mirror, lumbar support, storage package, ambiance lighting): $3,450.00
- Premium Sound Package (satellite radio w/1 year subscription, premium hi-fi system): $950.00
- Technology Package (rear view camera w/top view, park distance control, navigation system, BMW assist w/enhanced bluetooth & USB, real time traffic information): $3,200.00
- Real time traffic information: $250.00

All adds up to a total MSRP of $52,795.00

The car has the 2.0 liter dual overhead cam (DOHC) 16 valve inline 4 cylinder engine with TwinPower Turbo technology, high precision direct injection, valvetronic, and double-vanos steplessly variable valve timing. It is also an xDrive all wheel drive vehicle as well. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), brake drying, brake stand-by, start-off assistance and brake fade compensation are included as basic features. Car has hill descent control, servotronic venicle-speed-sensitive power steering along with ABS and auto start/stop functionality. MPG wise it ranks at 21 city and 28 highway. I typically average around 24MPG; however, have gotten up to 30MPG on highway cruising via cruise control and ECO mode. Plenty of power for the car. The engine is very peppy.

Most importantly - on to the history of this car. when I purchased it I was specifically seeking to replace my F31 wagon with something slightly larger. I wanted an M Sport Package car and preferred the 2.8 vs. the larger 3.5 due to fuel efficiency. That said, I knew about the issues this specific engine had in store for me with the timing chain. However, the bumper to bumper warranty gave me some reassurance. At 86,465 miles - the engine suffered the failure that I was anticipating it would. The car was towed to a BMW/Audi/Porsche specialist shop where it spent close to a month having its engine gone through with all respective components (and then some) replaced. The warranty company covered everything except for my $200.00 deductible and a $300.00 valve cover upgrade that I paid out of pocket for as well. Everything possible was replaced with upgraded components. timing chain; tensioners; guide rails; crankshaft sprockets; oil pump chains; oil pan gasket/bolts, etc; valve cover gaskets, bolts, etc; crankshaft seals; coolant; fuel pump; etc. etc. etc. The engine was inspected with borescope to ensure that no other issues had been encountered. The car was also aligned as well.

Aside from this most notable service I have also religiously performed oil changes, a transfer case fluid change (78K miles), a brake system flush (93K miles), etc. I purchased the car with 71K miles and have put on a solid 24K miles over the time of my ownership. I continue to drive between Rockville MD, Lorton VA, as well as Kent Island MD with an occasional longer distance trip.

Exterior of this car - while black - is in better shape than 90% of the cars on the road. Religiously washed and waxed. Interior is in great shape as well. Car has been garage kept during my ownership as well as the prior owner.

The car IS priced at a slight premium! If you're looking to purchase it for $12K - that won't happen. Save yourself and myself the time. I AM willing to negotiated with the right party. I am NOT in a rush to sell and will continue driving this until my new ordered vehicle is here. That said - you're getting a VERY solid car with bumper to bumper warranty that I will transfer to you. That's not something typical for an 8 year old car with 95K miles. The car has been exceptionally well maintained and sports some rather rare features. If you can find yourself one cheaper - I strongly urge you to pursue it. just know that the timing chain failure is a real deal and without warranty it's an $8K engine replacement (if the engine is toast). Most of the ones on the market place now are dealer vehicles with no service history and a cat in the bag when it comes to service.

Disclaimers:

1. The winter set of wheels/tires is the only set I have for now. I sold the factory 369M wheels at the end of fall as I put the winter set on with the intent on upgrading to some Forged summer wheels by the time summer came around. These winter wheels are great and have excellent tread left on them.
2. One of the roof-rack rails is peeling it's body-color paint. This is a common issue for these F25 X3's with the "shadow" package where BMW seemingly painted the satin stainless rails with body-color with little to no prep. easy fix with some paint/masking on a weekend.
3. It is an 8 year old car. there are some scratches and other minor blemishes. however way less than you would anticipate. All the paint IS original.

The car comes with all service records, it's original window sticker, all the books, carpet set of floor mats, rubber set of floor mats, roof-rack rails. I do additionally have factory OEM set of bike-rack roof-top holders that can be worked into the deal as well for those that may be interested. Have a fresh, clean CarFax in hand (pulled 12/27/21) that I can forward to those interested.
