We bought this car from it’s original owner in California before moving to TX 7 months go. We had a 2020 Mazda hatch back before this one but after our first baby was born it became difficult to manage things with that small size of a car. Initially, we tried buying brand new car but the markups were crazy(still crazy). Used cars were more expensive than new ones. Then we spent about one and the half month to find this Acura RDX. Original owner had two cars and they were also relocating to TX like us due to job(we both are in Tech). They’ve decided to let this one go and keep the other one as it is a hybrid car.
The things that made it easier for us to buy this car over others were: clean CarFax, 1-owner, low mileage(39800+) and all the maintenance records available from the original Acura dealership they bought the car from. On top of that we decided to perform PPI(Pre-purchase inspection, receipt is available)worth $250 at the same dealership. Result came in and the car was in great condition then the sell was finalized!
Tires were worn out, so we bought brand new tires from Costco($1000+ receipt available) and wheel alignment. Detailed car in & out for $150. We drove it from CA to Plano TX - roughly 1700 miles. Car handled the trip as it should.
Now car has around 47,500 which will increase as it is the main car we have right now.
Expecting our 2nd baby and decided to buy a bigger SUV with a 3rd row. I have sold and bought cars on Craigslist. I totally understand the pain and how frustrating it can be for both the buyers and seller. So I always try my best to present the car as transparent as I can with the availability information I have. I’m confident with the car because I did my due diligence when I bought it and I knew at some point I would sell it. More than welcome to take it to nearby independent shops for PPI and I do recommend to anybody. Be comfortable with your purchase.
That being said, PLEASE:
1.Don’t try to send me Google code to verify Anything.
2.Don’t tell me this would be a gift to your granddaughter but you are out of town for a while and you would like to wire transfer
3.No mom-and-pop dealership with lowballing
4.In conclusion don’t waste time!
If you really need a reliable car and shopping around, please stop by to check it out.
