This is an amazing car. I bought it in July 2020 with 21,000 miles as I was moving to Colorado and wanted something with AWD. I love it and would happily drive it for years, but I am considering getting a new Outback Limited.
My favorite thing about Subarus is that they are so safe, and this Outback Limited came with some great safety features. This has been my first newer/nice car, and I was very impressed with some of the features. The lane keep assist will alert you if you sway out of your lane, the blind-spot detection makes backing out of parking spots super safe and stress-free (as does the back-up camera), and the pre-collision braking and throttle management will help prevent front and rear collisions by helping you stop the vehicle in time, and they have actually saved me from rear-ending someone. It was raining and I slammed on my brakes, but I could feel the car also engaging the brakes for me and I think the throttle management helped make it work in time, as it seemed clear to me I had made a driving error and miscalculated the time I would need to brake, but still, I did not hit the car in front of me. It has also prevented me from backing up even a little bit into a tiny branch in my friend’s driveway, as it viewed that as a rear-end collision, and so the brakes engaged.
Again, this car is so nice and safe, the only thing I will be replacing it with is a newer version of the same.
The interior is super luxurious - tan leather, with wood trim, and kept very clean. I have always had seat covers on back seats and usually on the front seats as well, but I wanted to enjoy the leather heated seats more, so I took them off recently. I have no pets, no children, and don’t smoke, although I did transport the dog I used to foster in the car, but that was only for about four months, and he did not even touch the car seats due to the seat covers.
When I bought this car used with 21,000 miles on it, I also purchased an extended service contract for $2,695. Initially, I was offered the contract at a higher price, my dad advised I not purchase it for that price, so they lowered the price, and he said it was a good idea at that point. I purchased the best plan (platinum) and it is in effect until 60 months or 60,000 miles go by from when the plan went into effect. This means it is good until 81,166 miles (currently at 46800, so about another 34k miles) or for another 42 months as it was purchased in July 2020. I included a picture of what it covers. You could choose if you would like to have the extended service contract moved to your name, or if you prefer, I can cancel the extended service, receive a refund for it, and take that refund amount off the sale price.
I have kept up with regular oil changes, I have most of the receipts. In October 2020, I replaced the battery, I have that receipt and it comes with a free 3-year replacement. In September 2021, I replaced all of the tires with Yokohama-CTXs, as the tread was wearing thin, and I purchased the warranty for them, so if one is damaged before 60,000 miles are put on the tires (tires, not car) they will all be replaced. This is important as it is all-wheel drive, all the tires need to be the same in amount of tread-wear in order to protect the transmission. This car has not been in any accidents.
The color of this car is “Tungsten” and it is a discontinued color, but I absolutely love it and one of the reasons I don’t even want a newer Subaru is they don’t use this color anymore.
