Vehicle Description
This was the chassis I always wanted. A Sandstorm. I had a tiny Chenoweth car before and wanted something much nicer and wider. Then I finally I found a very strong and well-designed dual-sport chassis that was professionally TIG welded instead of MIG. I purchased the bare chassis in 2006 and all the other components over the next few years as I could afford them.
The car is almost finished, and I think that is a big plus for the whomever the new owner will be. If it was painted / wrapped / powder coated, it probably would not be the color / style you like. The rust is just surface rust that can easily be blasted or sanded off. The aluminum panels are in excellent condition and just need to be sanded. If there were mods you wanted to make, you'd have to ruin the paint/coating to add or remove anything. The right way to build a car is to leave it raw, run it, make changes, THEN decide on the colors and paint/coat it. You get to choose the final look.
The car sat unbuilt for 12 years as I was busy running a vocational school. In 2019 my stepfather decided to finish building it for me. He got about 95% done and returned it to me to finish in early 2020. But then covid hit and I lost my business. I was never able to complete the build.
