Vehicle Description
Selling my 1963 Chevrolet Biscayne 4 door sedan. This is a 4-owner car, always owned near the Denver metro area, and has been well taken care of over the past 58 years.
History: I purchased this car as my first car nearly 5 years ago in September of 2016 from the 3rd owner in Wyoming. Since then, we have upgraded and improved many parts of the car and its safety. We initially installed front disc brakes (with carbon-ceramic brake pads), updated the rear drum brakes, installed all-new suspension components and front-end assembly pieces, and added front seat belts. We have always kept it garaged, never staying outside for prolong periods of time, especially during the winter months.
Current: Since then, I have heavily modified most of the powertrain with a fully-built 5.3l LS, iron block & aluminum heads, along with a 4L80E transmission. The turbo comes from eBay, as just one of the typical "gt45" turbochargers, but is currently set at 10lbs of boost, making 500hp to the rear wheels through the original 3.08 rear end. All-in-all this car has much more into it than the asking price and was never aggressively raced or beaten on, this was my commuter car, the car I took to high school, and now it's time to let someone else have fun with it.
I could never list all the bits and pieces on the car in here, but we have all receipts from the professional engine swap, along with many of the regular maintenance receipts. Car was never crashed, heavily damaged, or abused, only one slightly curbed wheel.
Highlights:
- 5.3LS, L59 engine code, aluminum 706 heads, iron block. Was built by a company out of Colorado Springs, went to a machine shop and all
- 69mm/88mm turbocharger @ 10lbs of boost with Tial wastegate / b.o.v.
- All new computer management system
- 80lb Siemen injectors, Holley turbo exhaust pipes to fender-exit exhaust
- All new intercooler and radiator setup
- Refurbished 4L80E transmission, shifts perfectly
- Shortened driveshaft to the original rear end, which has been perfect since I've owned it
- All new fuel tank and fuel pump
- Currently has an OBD2 digital dash
- American Racing VN501 wheels, all 17x9in, wrapped in all-weather tires with good tread left
- Full leather interior and updated trim, all in great shape
- New front projector headlights and new rear tail light lenses
- Clean Colorado title, 3 sets of keys & wheel key
Things to be fixed:
- Small transmission leak from transmission connector
- Small coolant leak due to lower radiator hose setup, just needs a new hose
- Will occasionally smoke on startup, believed to be due to the coolant leak (no coolant in oil), hasn't been diagnosed and the engine was freshly built with less than 3,000 miles on it
Reason for selling: Moving, won't have a garage for this car, and I need a more practical car, something that can handle the snow without being garaged.
If you are seriously looking for a project car, something to have lots of fun with, and are able to provide proof of funds, please email anytime. I will likely respond within minutes, I do not want to waste anybody's time, so please don't reach out if you are not serious about buying. I will not bother showing the car to anyone who is not able to pay in full with cash, certified check, or wire transfer, no trades or payment plans will be considered. I realize that this car is not perfect, so the price is negotiable, but please only send over reasonable offers.
- Only available to show during weekends
Odometer discrepancy: original odometer is stuck at ~67,000, doesn't update anymore due to new transmission, have added miles since swap in the listing. Total mileage is ~X70,350, don't know if the car ever crossed the 100,000-mile mark before me, these old odometers don't read that far.
