Vehicle Description
This car is a complete off-the-frame total and complete restoration. The PONTIAC HISTORICAL SOCIETY CERTIFICATION shows that it is exactly as represented The frame was completely sandblasted and painted with red oxide and black paint as it was originally. The body was completely glass-bead blasted inside and out. All the suspension has been restored with OEM parts and specifications. This includes shocks, coil springs, upper control arms, lower control arms, ball joints, complete drum brakes, brake lines, brake drums, fuel lines, new gas tank. EVERY thing in the under carriage is restored. Engine completely rebuilt. New pistons, rings, cam, lifters and push rods, all bearings, seals and gaskets. New clutch disc, fly wheel and pressure plate, all OEM. Transmission overhauled, rear end is a 10-bolt 3.23 with original tag. All the numbers in the car match. Most have tabs, but numbers are clearly stamped in the engine and transmission, etc. The paint on the car is the exact color as when it rolled out of the factory, as is the interior. I have pictures of the car in its original condition when I rescued it from a barn in Tennessee with the original hand painted pin stripes from the factory. The car had never been repainted when I took possession. The new pinstripes were hand painted by a master pinstriper who originally worked for GM doing this.
The interior was all redone to exact and original factory specifications. Carpet, side panels, trunk, all original. The entire car has been re-wired with new OEM wiring. All lights work -- mirror map, under hood, trunk, glove box and courtesy light. Radio complete rebuilt all original OEM by a radio man who worked for GM Delco Department. All cables, bolts, nuts screws from front bumper to rear restored. All bearings in the car from bumper to bumper have been replaced. New heater motor. I have invested 9,000 hours and 4-1/2 years restoring this car. I have over $100,000 invested in parts, paint, interior, etc., etc., etc. and have the documents and receipts to prove it. In finale, this is the most remarkable GTO you will ever see or could hope to own. I'm sure there are many things I have not mentioned, but your questions are welcomed any time. The car only has 325 miles on it. I'm 75 years old -- it's time sell this an move on.
