Vehicle Description
FOR SALE -
1999 59 Passenger Bus. Good running Detroit Series 60 Turbo Diesel Motor and Heavy Duty Allison push button automatic transmission (these 2 sought after items, alone, are worth more than the asking price). The bus drives very well and has a steering tag axle which allows it to handle corners very well and saves on tires.
The Good-
Working AC and Heat.
Tons of undercarriage and extra storage space.
Good reclining seats.
Over-head storage, lighting, and air.
Good Rubber.
Working toilet, with Blackwater holding tank, and a 60 gallon fresh water tank.
All the Lights and Safety Equipment are in working order.
The roof and glass are good with no leaks.
The Bus is solid and works well.
The Bad-
She is not going to win any beauty contest; has some dents and dings showing her age and mileage. 95% of the issues are purely cosmetic dings and scraps. The only exception would be dings that inhibit the Drivers side luggage doors from opening easily. However, this is not that much of an issue since the whole luggage space is accessible from the passenger side also.
We decided to retire the equipment because it was the odd-one-out.
This bus could be pressed back into service doing charters, routes, Casino Runs, or would be a great option for a Church or other NGO or Non-profit.
The ultimate option maybe as an RV or TINY HOUSE since it already has the water/sewer, everything is enclosed, heat and AC and everything works. Would be a perfect solar project as the bus is 24v already. If you were looking at making your own Tiny House, just a trailer base ALONE is over $12k – with this Bus all you have to do is remove/move some seats and design and build living quarters and you have almost 40' (320sq/ft) in which to do that. And then your tiny house would also be able to move itself.
