Vehicle Description
1972 Ford Ranchero GT Q-Code 351 Cleveland Cobra Jet 4 speed, engine built last year at GAM in Greeley. I used the earlier closed chamber heads ,better performance than the original open chamber although I still have them as well as the original cj exhaust manifolds and factory dual point distributor and air cleaner and carb. Motor runs strong has a mild Lunatti hyd roller cam and rockers. Edelbrock intake and holley carb, all MSD ignition system, also a rare set of Hooker headers made for the 4 speed in a Torino/Ranchero, all new custom 2.5" Magnaflow exhaust with an X pipe , sounds great has a nice healthy idle but great manners. This is the one year only Grand Torino front end with the distinctive shark mouth grille ,has all the options . Engine is a 4 bolt main Cleveland cj block, has both front and rear heavy duty sway bar competition suspension package also the Extra cooling option. Has the traction lock 3:25 posi rear-end, the competition instrumentation group with the factory tach ,all the gauges and lights work as they should. This is a bucket seat car with the Hurst healthy option factory installed Hurst shifter going to a toploader 4 speed that I had completely gone through and a new Mcleod clutch. Interior is in great shape seats have been redone as original ,dash replaced, and new heater core. The car is fun to drive runs and rides excellent ,power disc brakes and power steering rides smooth and quiet inside . I have the Marti report on it only 782 were built with this engine and transmission combo, super rare car. Only thing this car needs is a nice paint job to do it justice its a rust free Calif car, the heater core leaked and the car sat for some time before I purchased it. At some point water came in through an open window. Floor pans needed minor patching I opted for full replacement, pans are new. I purchased from the original owner still has the jack and spare mounted behind the seats, the bed is perfect with a prayed bed liner. Has newer Magnum wheels and BFG tires. The original medium brown paint is in the door jambs and visible in areas around the rear window, I have the original stationary rear window as well. Body is straight with only a few minor dings, never been wrecked or repaired. This is a great example of a true 70s muscle car ,solid and dependable with lots of power, gets thumbs up and attention every time I take it out. I'm not desperate to sell ,its a great addition to my collection I just dont get to enjoy it as often as I would like. I know what the car is worth and what they sell for painted so please no lowballers only serious enquires .
