Vehicle Description
I am selling my 1994 Mercedes SL500 hard top convertible with a 315 horsepower 5.0L V8 engine. The previous owner had a sport Mercedes exhaust installed to give it the same deep muffling sound of the American V8 engines, with the power to back it up. I bought the car with plans to take it to completion but I just can't do that right now and I hate for it to just sit.
Here are some of the features of this car:
- Two seat hard-top convertible (I have never removed the top)
- Factory roll bar (I have stored in my apartment for when you ride convertible)
- Factory power windows, steering and air
- New Tires on new wheels (less than 200 miles driven on them)
- New battery (less than 10 miles on it)
- New Alternator (lifetime warranty-installed less than 10 miles ago)
- New fuel filter (installed less than 10 miles ago)
- New ignition coils with new Bosch platinum spark plugs (installed less than 200 miles ago)
The things it needs to be completed are:
- A/C –heater blower motor needs fuse replaced (or needs replaced- can buy aftermarket)
- Radio needs fuse or to be replaced
- Could use paint
- May need brake pads
- Odometer is not working properly
- Needs some interior attention
After the alternator was replaced, I noticed several items (gauges, speedometer, turn signals) are not working. More than likely the cause is fuses that need to be replaced that I will try to look at, but I can't put any more money in it at this time. In the present condition it starts up fine, but with the gauges not working it would need to be towed. I hate to part with this project, but I just can’t see it to completion right now. I have over $4500 invested in it but am asking $2650 just to sell it to someone interested in restoring it. Will accept cash only and will only deal with someone in person. Thank you for looking.
