Vehicle Description
Are you a mechanic that can do your own repairs and looking for a fantastic, soughtafter, and rare in Humboldt county, german luxury hatchback?
I'm the third owner, 1 month old CarFax available, clean title, regularly maintained, recently detailed, 2009 Audi A3 PZEV 2.0 Turbo w/ 149,932 miles in very good condition with a handful of issues that will cost around $200 in parts, but an unknown amount of labor. The problems are as follows:
* Rear brakes warning indicator -- Rear pads at ~40%, needs new pads/rotors (Cost ~$50 ea)
* Intermittent driver-side front and rear door locking -- Possible actuator failures (Cost ~$30 ea)
* Rear tire cupping/scalloping -- Needs new tires (Cost varies)
* Oil leaking from either timing cover or rear main seal -- Not sure which but the seals/cover cost less than $40.
Otherwise, everything is in excellent working condition!
This A3 with the Premium and Convenience packages has all the features you'd expect from an Audi except for navigation or backup camera -
Bose sound system, Sirius satellite radio, 17" premium wheels, rain sensing remote wipers, heated power mirrors with turn signals, auto-dimming rearview mirror, power driving seat, dual zone climate control, cruise control, bluetooth phone, dual moonroof with powered front moonroof, 4 one-touch power windows, dual front side mounted airbags and front and rear head airbags, anti-theft alarm and engine immoblizer, daytime running lights, child seat anchors, and 12V rear and 12V cargo area power outlets.
The functionality issues you primarily see with this model year are broken moon roof visor clips, broken ash tray, broken center console latch, and broken rear center console latch. This car has all of them functioning perfectly except the rear center console latch, which I ordered from eBay for less than $10 but won't arrive for a few more weeks.
I bought it used in Fremont, CA on August 4th. After getting it home I had an oil and filter change, replaced the oil pan, the coolant reservoir, all 3 windshield wipers (with Bosche ICONs), one dash air vent, the ash tray, and both keyfob rubber buttons. I purchased an instruction manual set ($60) and an OEM rear cargo area tonneau cover ($400). Finally, I detailed it inside and out. I was going to replace the tires when the oil leak was discovered, but figured you may want different tires than I would buy, so I'm leaving the tire replacement to you.
I've put more money into the car than I wanted to and given that the shop isn't sure whether the leak is coming from the rear main or the timing cover, I don't want to put any more money into labor costs just to find out it was unnecessary, so I'd like to pass this on to someone who can do the work themselves and get to enjoy this awesome little car.
My misfortune is your gain! So come take a look and decide if this is the car for you!
