Vehicle Description
Barn Find!!! This is a 1955 Ford F 250, Step Side, Original Survivor with only approximately 6,000 miles!! Has been in the barn for over 40 years. Has the original tires still holding air!! This is a V8, four speed. Has a Ford Flatbed on it and we have a proper step-side pickup bed that is in excellent condition. This truck was driven to this location in 1976 and drove like brand new!! The history or provenance of the truck is as follows:
My Dad who was a car dealer bought the truck in the early 1970's. At
the time he purchased it, the exterior paint had faded, but it was rust
free. He had it repainted in his body shop.
The interior is original and has not been repainted. The seat is
original but will now need to be reupholstered. In the 1970's, I
rebuilt the brakes, when I pulled the hubs off, the grease was clean.
After it was repainted, it sat at the back of his body shop until 1976.
In the fall of 1976, I bought a place in the country and drove it out to
my barn where it sits today. The doors still open and shut like a safe!
No sagging, drooping. When I drove it to my barn the engine, front end
and transmission drove like new. It currently has a flat bed on it,
but I also have an excellent pickup bed, tailgate, and rear fenders. The
running boards are perfect.
The 1955 V8 was the same motor that was in the 1955 Thunderbird. Many
Thunderbird restorers have tried to buy this original motor with
virtually no miles on from me, but I have refused, I have wanted to
keep the truck together. We do have the very small original title.
Priced at $20,000.00. Is in Louisburg, KS. Louisburg is just minutes south of Overland Park, KS. For more information contact Neil at 913 963 3597.
