1997 E39 BMW 540 6-speed manual
This is the best sounding V8 I have ever driven - I don’t know why, there is just something right about the admittedly amateur exhaust system on this car.
And the engine runs perfect - no hiccups, no codes at all, no lights on the dash, no coolant leaks, no power steering leaks, no AC system leaks.
AC system works perfect.
There is a small oil leak from a valve cover, but it does not drip.
Clutch has less than 1000 miles on it - Factory BMW clutch kit.
Transmission shift perfectly smooth - no grind, no hesitation. Just perfect and quiet.
Brakes are almost brand new all around but they do squeak...
The coilover kit is tight and in good condition. It’s a pretty stiff ride sitting this low but not brutal or bouncy.
The tires never rub the fenders - even turning over bumps or into driveways.
Tires are all 80-90% good - and they are high quality tires.
Body has some cosmetic damage that you can see in the photos. Fan clutch failed a while back putting those holes in the hood.
Has a new fan clutch and that is why the AC works so well!
All windows and sunroof operate smooth and fast - no dragging or clicking. One-touch works on all.
Power mirrors work and adjust when you put it in reverse to see the curb on the right.
Has a head light out - just have not had time to see if it is the hid unit or the bulb...
led angel eyes work and look good and white - not dingy yellow.
Rims are a little scratched and peeling but not bent.
Not a single scratch or tear in the leather seats - even the driver left bolster.
Some of the pixels are out on the dash, but is still readable.
Very fun car to drive, I really love it, but I am selling everything to move out of country next year.
(Keep an eye out for more sales!)
