Vehicle Description
I am selling my beloved 2003 Econoline van that I converted into a camper. I bought the van from a dealer in 2016 at about 99k miles, it had previously been a business commuter van, so most miles were freeway miles. I've since put about 30k miles on it, and also done good amount of work mechanically. Here are the details:
Interior Conversion:
-Handicapped roof installation with vent fan (in/out + 3 speed settings) and lighting. A 6 ft. person can easily stand inside.
-Double bed with foam mattress and cover
-Ice box fridge
-5 gallon water tank with hand pump and sink
-Ample storage below bed and along ceiling
-Additional battery & inverter to charge electronics, etc.
-Privacy curtains for all windows
Mechanical work:
-102k miles - new battery and alternator
-105k miles - new brake system (rotors, pads, calipers)
-117k miles - new spark plugs
-121k miles - new tires
-128k miles - engine flush
Other details:
Since I bought the van I have gotten it serviced regularly and had a 100k mile service done. The van just passed smog and is registered through August 2020. It gets about 18-20 mpg on average, but can get up to 25 mpg. I also have a pair of tire chains that will be included, as well as a small propane heater and a tape adapter.
Cons:
The only con is that it needs new brakes. I got a quote for about $1k. Since the van was converted, it bears more weight and so needs a new brake system about every 30k miles, rather than the normal 50k miles.
I traveled in this van for a year and a half and then used it for shorter trips since then. I'm selling it because I don't have the time to use it much anymore and it doesn't make sense for me to keep it any longer. It really is the perfect adventure van and I hope someone will love it just as much as I do!
Please give me a call or text or email if you have any questions or if you'd like to check it out.
