This 1970 Corvette was purposely built to be a reliable and trouble-free “Sunday Driver”. “Burnouts” and speed were not a consideration.
It is not a “numbers matching” vehicle. The importance was focused on being able to make “road trips” across the U.S. without worrying about whether you need your AAA card.
A new 350 Cubic Inch, 350 HP ZZ-4 “crate engine” from GM was installed in September 2013. Shortly after the engine installation the owner passed away [2014]. The car was garaged and not driven until I bought it in 2016.
Engine is totally stock. Single 4 BBL Edelbrock carb. It has a little over 4,000 miles on the engine since installation. Headers & custom-built exhaust system.
A 2004R overdrive transmission was specifically built and installed in this Corvette by NHRA Hall of Fame Member Art Carr. The transmission build included a 12” 2,000 – 2,200 non-lock-up torque converter and Setrab 18,000 GVW Oil Cooler.
The Edelbrock carburetor was jetted and the distributor curved for economy by HK Motorsports [ including a Winipep 7 dynamometer run [231 HP & 275 LBs torque @ rear wheels]. Dyno chart is included in documents.
On the Freeway with the 3.08 differential gears at 65 MPH the engine turns just 2,000 RPM giving you 24 MPG [if you keep your foot out of it!]. 91 Octane required.
Massive BeCool aluminum radiator using propylene glycol formula coolant. The I-15 Baker Grade in August is no problem!
New Vintage Air A/C system. The original A/C and heater system was removed. Only the A/C was hooked up. The heater portion is not hooked up.
Dakota Digital Cruise Control installed. Custom instrument bezel for JVC Sirius XM radio. Satellite radio reception anywhere.
Less than 400 miles on 4 new tires. New battery. Battery disconnect switch. Ammeter replaced with voltmeter. Forward facing Dash Camera. Dual port USB receptacle with cable pre-installed for GPS Satellite Navigation.
