Used Chevrolet Malibu LS 138k miles for sale in New Bern, NC

2003 Chevrolet Malibu LS, 138k miles (and counting), in the family since new (with me since late 2004). Leather power seats, a.c., power sunroof, allow wheels, power windows & locks, Cruise control, rear spoiler, after-market Pioneer CD and speakers. Paint is fantastic, unlike other cars on craigslist of this age. Suspension mostly new and tight. YouTube video links at bottom so check them out.

Car has taken me to NY and back here dozens of time without failure. No question is will just keep driving.

FLAWS: Front seats are NOT great! Driver's side seat leather is ugly and splitting so I have seat covers AND a seat pad because the cushion is quite flat now. Lumbar support is also compressed so you can see a back brace in the pictures. Door arm wrest is cracked (very common problem). SEE THE PICTURES! Typical American interior quality :-( so priced accordingly. Rear seats are fine. Passenger front seat is ugly, but not damaged, with all support in-tact.

FRONT BRAKES and exhaust are next up for maintenance. Stopping power still 100% but you will need do do the front brakes soon. Rotors were shaved with new pads in 2014. The exhaust passed inspection a few months ago so you can get away with it for quite some time if you wanted.

4 cyl engine gets good gas mileage and runs perfectly. Transmission is smooth as silk. The car never breaks down. Doesn't run hot. Alignment is perfect.

New tires 2018 and passed inspection a few months ago (always does).

I drive this car every day so it's 100% road worthy. Ignition is funky and needs to be turned off all the way or the battery drains. It's a design flaw with this model. Not a problem. I've lived with it for years. Anyone mechanically inclined could fix it. Or you could leave it alone for eternity and it'll be fine.

NO WRECKS, water or flooding of any kind (was on high ground during the hurricane). Car was keyed in Jersey five years ago so driver's side door was properly repainted (I caught the kid who did it and his daddy paid). You can't tell. I washed the car monthly and waxed it at least twice a year, every year since new so no clear coat failure. No fading. Not even on the bumpers.

Pics of door bottoms included so you can see the car is clean and not rusting or rotting.

Glass is all original without cracks. Sunroof operates 100%. Driver's side passenger window is stuck up. The other three power windows are fine. Cruise works, A.C. and heat are good, as are front and rear defrost.

Selling because I have severe disc degeneration in L4 and L5 of my spine so I need a new car with a perfect seat, otherwise I'd just keep driving it. I think I deserve a brand new car. It's time.

This is the least expensive 2003 Malibu in NC and priced UNDER the examples with much higher miles.
