Vehicle Description
SERIOUS INQUIRIES PLEASE. IF THIS POSTING IS VISIBLE, IT IS AVAILABLE.
TRADES: We are not interested in any trades.
THIS CAR: Forty-three-year-old Firebird Formula; pretty much unrestored and original except where noted below.
ABOUT ME: Original small block 301 ci engine that was professionally rebuilt by Russell's Machine Shop, Mobile, in 2018. Since the rebuild, driven about 5,000 miles only or about 1,500 miles per year.
TITLE HISTORY: Paperwork is important to properly register me; I still hold the original Georgia title from 1979, showing that Alabama does not require a title for a car older than 35 years. However, if your state "requires a title to register," I also have an official letter from Judge of Probate from the state of Alabama; it has the vehicle description and the VIN number. The letter explains that no Alabama title exists for the car. The letter is called: TITLE EXEMPTION LETTER. It will be the paperwork you will need to get registered in your state. Together, we can live together and start a new life.
HISTORY: Georgia car, parked under a carport for nearly twenty years. Purchased in Robertsdale, Alabama in 2018.
ENGINE: Stock small block V-8, 301 cubic inches, and it matches the car-it is the original engine. Engine was pulled and professionally rebuilt (four month's time) and stripped down to the block. It was likely borred over to about 307 and now I rumble. (There is factory original three-speed automatic transmission.) Basically, everything under my hood has been updated except for the starter.
INTERIOR: Original, except where noted and it needs some work; here are some of the higher points. Carpet has been wet / discolored and floors have some surface rust; back window area trim is dried / needs replacing; front dash has cracked and it has a pad; door panels are in good condition but have those holes people cut out for speakers; nomal discoloration to vinyl from humidity; rear side panels that were installed & the console has a new cover lid; seats are original with only minor cracking; backs of seats need to be redone; all gages are original and work fine; has original cigarette lighter that works.
BODY: NEVER BEEN RESTORED & probably no body work has been done except for cosmetic; has original trim and decals that need to be updated; main body concerns are around the T-tops (rust); rear fender, passenger near side markers (rust); inside of trunk, rust; paint is blistering in some areas; front nose is solid but needs restoration; rear bumper is solid but the paint has faded; on a scale of 1 - 10 this is probably a "7" or "7.5". Fix it yourself or get an auto body shop to help.
HANDLING: I have Formula handling and "Snowflake" wheels as shown, with a spare Snowflake in the trunk.
EXHAUST: Original exhaust was replaced with a Flowmaster; sounds nice, and turns heads.
OTHER THINGS FIXED: In the last 3,000 miles as follows: a new alternator; new battery; new radiator, hoses and belts; the steering column was pulled and sent out of state and professionally rebuilt; new plugs, wires, distributer cap; the AC compressor has been replaced (the blower does not work & it is not blowing cold), probably a fuse; heater core has been replaced; the entire brake system was done at a local garage in Fairhope; it has a new master cylinder; the tires are new, with about 3K miles on them.
OTHER: Fun to drive and people come up to me with "high school stories" or they want to race.
STEREO: I love my aftermarket radio that you can plut your Bluetooth into if you desire. I have new speakers in the back.
SEALS / TOPS: My T-tops need new seals & leaks when it rains. Pretty typical for old Firebirds.
LIGHTS / OTHER: My dim lights work but great the dimmer needs to be fixed; brights do not work; one side marker needs a new light bulb; cruise control works fine.
MY MAJOR ATTRACTIONS:
1. Low miles.
2. Almost all original.
3. Matching numbers.
4. Firebird Formula.
5. I am pretty, sexy, and very lonely.
THANKS FOR LOOKING!
