The title for the Z is not for that car. The door Vin plate and the dash vin plates have both been swapped from some other Datsun 280Z , along with the title.Both tags have been butchered installing. Phillips head screws on door post and not factory rivets. Glued on dash tag. But mostly the only number that matters to DMV, the only number, is the firewall stamp above the brake booster on drivers upper engine bay firewall. It is a totally different number than the title, the dash vin tag and the door post plate.The enclosed pictures show the plates. and the firewall stamp. And a picture of a factory correct riveted door post plate and not a Phillips head screwdriver swap like this one. Anyone who buys this Z is going to be very upset when they try to tag it after an inspection. . And will be even more than that if ever pulled over by law enforcement and they do a check of the numbers against the registration, title numbers you have. Can you say impound time.Stay away.How do I know this ? I bought it last month here in Prescott..Had it towed to my shop after having it paid for. Checked it out. Saw all this . Sent it back got my money back, explained EVERYTHING to Pat the owner
Sent him these pics. I will not deal with cars with bogus history. I was out the tow bill both ways, but do not want anyone else long distance ,even overseas getting into this pack of worms.It is major Capital T TROUBLE..
