Vehicle Description
2002 Ford F150 XLT FX4 SuperCrew Cab 4x4 Shortbed 5.4L (V8) Automatic: It's a very mechanically-sound and dependable truck. We've used it routinely for family trips 2-3 hours from home as well as being one of our daily drivers for the past 3.5 years. I wouldn't hesitate to take off cross-country with the family in it. Only reason we're selling it is that we needed a 3/4 ton to tow a large trailer! Considered keeping it for our teens but not quite ready to hand them keys to anything just yet! Price is Firm! Not playing games or pricing high to give room to barter. $5000 gets you a solid truck without buyer's remorse, offer me $4,999 = you're wasting my time.
Pros/New Parts:
Interior is in good shape with normal wear on grey cloth & grey dash/doors/etc.; A/C & Heat work great; FX4 = Off-road package; 4x4 all works; Tow Package; Heated seats/Cruise control/wipers/lights&fog lights/radio/mirrors all work as they should; Tires replaced when we got it, they are about 1/2 wear; Intake, all 8 coils, knock sensor, spark plugs, radiator flush, sway link kit all done at 188k miles right after we purchased it; Transmission filter & fluid changed; New master cylinder/rotors/calipers/ & brake pads & all new front end parts (upper/lower ball joints, upper A arms, idler arm, pitman arm, left/right stabilizer mounts, inner/outer tie rods) replaced in October; alignment done 10/17; New back glass about 6 months ago (original slider started leaking under heavy rainfall, installed one without slider glass); (husband aka Tim-the-Tooltime-Allen has put $1,000+ in parts alone in 2019, makes the pocketbook cry but when you're hauling your children in it you want it to be safe & sound!)
Cons:
Exterior has scratches & paint imperfections normal for a 17 year old truck; small circular crack in windshield right behind rear view mirror (does not obstruct vision), sunroof is not functional currently/it's sealed with silicone (former owner said it leaked so he sealed it up & we've left it be), and the ABS light is on. This truck will not win a beauty-pageant but it is not a bad looking truck at 25' feet either.
