1985 Fiat Bertone X 1/9 69,000 miles
This is one of the rarest Fiat X 1/9s in the United States. This car has a professionally installed Eurosport wide body kit which was imported from England. There may be only a couple Eurosport X19’s in the country – I have never heard of another. There have been lots and lots of upgrades and replacement of original items on the car that easily total over $30,000.
The car has had three owners, including myself. The second owner purchased the car in 2003 in pretty much stock condition and then went to town on the body kit and upgraded maintenance. I purchased the car in 2010 and continued with a few key upgrades.
The Eurosport kit was bought and imported from England and was professionally installed The total cost of the body kit and repaint alone was over $14,000.
I have an extensive and detailed folder of all the upgrades, etc. They include:
Body:
Eurosport wide body kit imported from England
Repaint in GMC Red (code 86 WA 379E for 2003+ Trailblazer EXT)
Euro Bertone and Abarth badges
New rear brake/light units
Engine:
Removal of the airbox and install of a free breathing K&N filter system
CASCU stainless steel exhaust system from Europe
IAP oil pump, water pump, and fuel pump
IAP cam, crank, and auxiliary gears
IAP distributor and ignition
Upgraded battery grounding
Upgraded headlight electricals
New IAP fuel hoses.
New IAP radiator hoses
Suspension, wheels, and brakes:
Performance struts and springs including track performance front coil overs from Midwest-Bayless
Upgraded front and rear IAP sway bars
Wilwood front brake system From Midwest-Bayless – Adaptors, calipers, pads, rotors, and stainless braided lines. Track setup so Pads can be swapped without removing calipers.
Larger and wider BWA 15” rims with Abarth caps fitted with 195/50/15 Toyo Proxes.
4 X 98 to 4 X 100 25mm thick wheel adaptors and spacers to widen the wheels outward
Interior:
New carpeting
New Instrument cluster panels
Speakers in doors and behind the headrest.
Pioneer deck and CD player – also has option of Apple connect.
Newly upholstered door panels.
New dash switches
Addition of between seat leather arm rest.
There have been many other service / upgrades all documented in printed folder.
This is the perfect option for a Bayless Honda K20 swap! The last few K20 swaps on various auctions have all gone for around $40,000.
What needs to attention:
The seats are functional, but really should be reshod with new upholstery to match the quality if the rest of the car – very good kits are available for around $600.
The car is old enough that there are some small spots of rust bubbling up at the bottom of the windshield.
The body kit was installed long enough ago that there are some cracks and dings in the paint in a few places.
I like the track based brake pads that are in the Wilwood brakes, but others might like a softer more street based pad - many options available from Midwest Bayless.
The vehicle is being sold as is, where is, and without any warranty. The buyer is solely responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements.
For those with a Fiat 500, Go retro with more performance.
