Vehicle Description
(Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) 1923 Paige 6-70 Seven Passenger Phaeton - ONLY ONE KNOWN TO EXIST Paige started making automobiles in 1908 until they were acquired by The Graham Brothers in 1927. The vehicles were made in Detroit with Detroit steel and offered a classy riding experience. The example offered here was the biggest and best car they ever made, and is the only known to still exist today. Garage Kept Motors is honored to offer such a rare and historical piece in American automotive history. This 1923 Paige 6-70 Seven Passenger Phaeton is the epitome of a show car and has won top awards at every event its attended. Back in 1923, this car was a grand touring car with the highest end amenities, particularly the upholstery. Heavy, hand-buffed leather over curled hair padding with generous couch-like cushions. It is an amazing vehicle for the 1920's, or even the 1950's. The car was purchased by the previous owner in 1980, who bought it from the first owner in fair condition but with zero rust. The accompanying documentation gives his personal account of restoring the vehicle in the early 1980's and taking to Concours d'Elegance shows, garnishing top awards, such as Grand Champion at Greenfield Village. It has been featured in classic car calendars and being the only one known left that's road worthy, this Paige gets attention wherever viewed. Our client, who has grown a proud collection of classic cars, bought the car in 2013 from the second owner. It has been the staple of his collection and he has meticulously preserved its beauty. This Paige is finished in factory Green/Black colors with original Detroit steel fenders. It is powered by the original 9A 6-Cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed manual gearbox. Original factory equipment includes twin spare tires on side carriers, front and rear bumpers, luggage rack with trunk, automatic windshield wiper, electric cigar lighter, Waltham analog clock, Motometer, cowl ventilator, sun visor, and power tire pump. All preserved like a museum display. If you can find another one like it, please let us know. If you can't and want to own a vintage, Detroit built vehicle, please let us know that too. This might be the coolest car we've ever had for sale. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Call if interested or e-mail with any questions.
