Vehicle Description
Engine: 355ci V8 4-Bolt Main Transmission: 350 Turbo Automatic Mileage: 12000 Highly Maintained Miles Since Build VIN: A89977329 Exterior Color: Porsche India Red Interior Color: Tan 10 Gallon Fuel Tank We received this outstanding highboy from the original builder recently and it was truly a labor of love. What really grabs the eye here is the very clean workmanship and attention to detail. Practically everything shy of the upholstery and paint is a product of his expert craftsmanship. He started working on this in 1983, and over a period of nine years, patiently built it step by step to his exacting standards. Starting with an A. I. fiberglass body and a set of original deuce rails, he then narrowed the Gennie frame two inches, and notched the bottom of the body to clean it up a little and make it sit down on the ’32 frame better. The body was further updated by fabricating a rolled rear pan and chopping the windshield posts four inches, the detailing them for a clean fit to the body. Under a custom Steve Hardin three-piece aluminium hood rests a very reliable 4-bolt 350, that is now a 355. The .030 overbore, HEI ignition, and four-barrel Holly 600 atop an Edelbrock Performer ensure trouble-free cruising. The front end is based around a four-inch dropped Super Bell axle that rides on Posies spring and four-bar system. The rear axle is a Ford eight-inch unit riding on a pair of Alden coil-over shocks, using 170 pound springs, with a Pete and Jake ladder bar system. The front brakes are JFZ discs. The hefty five-spoke 10-inch wide rear wheels are from American Racing. The matching front wheels are four inches wide. Tires are in great condition. A Boyd dash insert plays an integral part of the interior, which includes VDO cockpit gauges, a three-spoke Lecarra steering wheel, and a custom stitched and very comfortable bench seat with plenty of leg room. With over 25 trophies (including several Best of Show) this is a beautiful highboy that has been driven about 1500 miles per year, showing 12,00 highly maintained miles. It’s in pristine condition and needs nothing. Please call or email with any questions!
