Vehicle Description
Offered For Sale by the California Automobile Museum 1930 (Buick) Marquette Model 36 Business Coupe We Offer Financing The Marquette story (short version): Just in time for the Great Depression… Buick introduced the Marquette. It was heralded as the “Most Complete Car In America” priced for under $1,000 and as being a brand new, high performance car from Buick. Marquettes were offered through Buick dealers. This Marquette was restored 1979-1985. It is listed on “The MARQ” Buick and Marquette registry. After the owner’s passing, it was donated to the museum in 2003 and it has been in the museum ever since. Now is your chance to own a beautiful museum kept, one year only Marquette! Motor: Powered by an Oldsmobile 87.5 hp inline six-cylinder L-head motor. Block has Marquette name casting. This block had a crack that has been repaired last year by Lock-N-Stitch ($1,687). We felt it was essential to keep the original motor to this one year only car (no Chevy small block!). Fuel pump, carburetor, water pump have been rebuilt, gas tank boiled out, motor runs strong! Driveline and Suspension: 3 speed manual transmission, 4 wheel mechanical brakes. Body: This is the Business coupe with rumble seat, finished in maroon body over brown fenders. No dings, dents or rust. Top is in excellent condition. Chrome and bright work in excellent condition. Interior: Excellent condition, reupholstered in Wellington and Bordeaux mohair. One steering wheel spoke is cracked. Vinyl rumble seat has been recovered as well. This Marquette was built in 1929 for the 1930 model year. This car is an important part of General Motors’ history and the automobile industry in general during the 1930’s. We hope you will appreciate this limited production, one year only car!
