The Hudson is authentic in every detail – from its Daphnis Green paintwork to interior fittings and the engine compartment. Every nut and bolt on this car has been removed, inspected and refinished – every mechanical and cosmetic detail has been attended too. Period correct Goodyear "ripple" sidewall whitewall tires have been mounted to correctly pinstriped artillery wheels; absolutely perfect chrome accentuate the interior and exterior. A custom tailored Hartz Stay-Fast convertible top covers the flawless camel colored interior. All rubber has been replaced and a correct wiring harness fitted. The steel instrument panel and inside door-top edge trim have been woodgrained to match an original sample. Unique vent windows rotate open and disappear into the suicide doors for a sleek look. Accessories include rare factory radio, dual tail lights, dual windscreen wipers, cowl vent screen, fender lamps and twin horns. Mechanically, the eight cylinder engine runs like a Swiss-made watch – at shows, the owner has demonstrated the smoothness of this Hudson’s straight-eight by balancing a coin on the engine while it's idling. The three-speed transmission is synchronized in 2nd and 3rd and shifts properly. The Hudsonite oil-bath cork clutch is silky smooth with virtually no chatter and its easy on your left leg. The sole mechanical enhancement to the drivetrain performed during the restoration has been substitution of 3.50:1 differential gears – greatly improving the drivability (the factory 4.11:1 ring and pinion gears are included and the speedometer has been corrected to accurately read MPH and distance).
