Vehicle Description
Built between 1934 and 1937, the Chrysler Airflow was revolutionary and led the way for future automotive design. The unibody construction, streamlined body, top-quality mechanics and Art Deco styling made them unlike anything else on the road at the time, with design cues fully 10-15 years ahead of the industry. During the Depression years of the 1930's however, the Airflows were so ahead of the time that few were sold. Today, they are regarded as one of the landmarks in automotive design history. This particular car, from the last production year, was restored some years ago for touring. Repainted in Chrysler "Santa Rosa Sand" color, it has a soft metallic which is striking. The paint was recently completely wet-sanded and polished, presenting beautifully today (please see photos.) Chrome and trim are excellent. The interior was reupholstered in striped cloth, following the original pattern and stitching. Dashboard and trim was refinished. The gauges all work, as does the rare, original Chrysler AM radio. Mechanically, this Airflow runs great. 323 cubic inch, 130 HP straight 8 engine with FACTORY OVERDRIVE for highway touring at modern speeds. 3-speed manual transmission with shifter mounted through the firewall, allowing room for three people in the front seat (unique at the time.) I have personally driven this car and it runs and shifts well. PLEASE SEE VIDEO OF ENGINE RUNNING . Recognized by the Classic Car Club of America as a Full Classic™, this Airflow is eligible for participation in all CCCA tours and events. Of course it will also be welcome at all WP Chrysler Club events. For touring or an elegant evening on the town, this is a wonderful car. WE WILL HAPPILY SELL TO BUYERS WORLDWIDE AND ASSIST WITH SHIPPING ANYWHERE. www.CharvetClassicCars.com • 503-309-7729
