Used 1940 Ford Deluxe for sale in Manitowoc, WI

The 1940 Ford coupe continues to be one of the most popular pre-war American cars. This one has a classic old school look, but also has extensive updates throughout; drivetrain, interior, brakes, suspension, a/c, etc. There are more details than can be listed here but I will give it a shot. This rust-free Ford Deluxe Business Coupe is all steel and has never been wrecked. It maintains its “VIN” stamp on the left frame rail which matches the title (never assume this is the case with cars from this era). This is one of the most solid 1940’s you’ll find. It is the product of an older frame-off restoration on a clean 30,000 mile car. The car was extensively updated in 2013 with a new drivetrain along with those gorgeous flames. There were countless other items done at this time including new brakes, steering, suspension, safety glass, seals, window felts, wiring, interior, and more. The wheels were also modified to accept 1948 Mercury hubcaps and trim rings. Running gear updates included a new Chevy 350ci engine and TH350 transmission. This is a good street setup with a nice blend of power and reliability. Note the So Cal air cleaner and coated Sanderson headers. There is also a new BTR radiator with electric fan and a full stainless exhaust. The rear end is a Ford 9” with 3.10 gears for nice highway performance. There are many more updates! The steering box was replaced with a Borgeson 525 unit. The front end received a Posies 3” drop axle with Panhard bar. There are power front disc brakes along with big rear drums for much improved stopping ability. The suspension has updated springs and shocks along with big sway bars front and rear. There are stainless brake and fuel lines along with a 17-gallon poly fuel tank. The interior has the factory style split front bench seat and rear jump seats. Some updates here include new seat foam, seat covers, headliner, and Dynamat. There is a LimeWorks steering column topped with a rare NOS gold flake steering wheel. Other features include Auto Meter gauges, So Cal 1940 switches and knobs, Bob Drake electric wipers, and Ron Francis toggle turn signals. And finally, a full Vinage Air HVAC system was installed. This is really a neat car to drive; you just don’t see many cars from this era on the road. The old-school look will turns heads and make smiles wherever you go. But more than that, this 1940 Ford will have you cruising reliably and comfortably wherever you go.
