Used 1941 Chevrolet Business Coupe for sale in Granbury, TX

The entry-level model in Chevrolet's price-leading Master Deluxe Line for 1941 was the business coupe, which found 38,763 buyers among the more than 930,000 new automobiles that Chevrolet produced that year. This example has undergone a series of body-on refurbishments that began in 1995, and a repaint in correct factory colors as recently as 2012. This car, with its renewed interior, presents as a cosmetic restoration in progress. It's been mostly in the same family since 1995, it has seen very little use since the present work was completed.

The standard Chevrolet straight-six in 1941 displaced 216.5 cubic inches, was fed by a single-barrel Carter carburetor, had a compression ration of 6.5.:1 and was rated at 90 horsepower. The engine fires if you pump the throttle twice and press the starter button. There is no smoke. there is an oil leak from the area of the rear main seal. The three-speed manual transmission shifts properly. The drivetrain has no modifications and the engine bay presents as stock but unrestored. There is a new radiator hose, a new fuel filter, and a recently rebuilt carburetor.

This Master Deluxe had its body stripped to bare metal and received its present two-tone finish in 2012. The paint's current condition is very good, with minimal blemishes. There is no rust on the car. The dominant chrome work on Chevrolets for 1941 was their new grille assembly, which consisted of six die-cast moldings. This brightwork presents as being in good original condition. Some discoloration and incipient pitting can be seen, but the complex horizontal grille bars with inset paint are straight, kink-free and are in overall good shape. The glass is good, with no cracks or scratches. All of the exterior lighting is in proper working order. New steel disc wheels in the same color as the top have been fitted. The original wheels and wheel covers are available with the car.

Business Coupes are distinguished by their front bench seat and rear compartment for a salesman's samples. The rear shelf, with its wooden floor is original to the car. The seats were resurfaced with original facing materials in 1995, which was the same year when the Master Deluxe's present carpeting was installed. All are in excellent condition. The headliner is also new, the dome lights all function properly, although the radio is missing from its opening in the dashboard.

The current wheels have no issues and mount new Multi-Mile 78 tires with narrow whitewalls. The manual steering tracks straight, with a certain amount of free play. The shock absorbers were rebuilt, and the bushings are aged, the manual drum brakes works well.
