Vehicle Description
Set up with a remarkable stance and outfitted with rims that mystify everyone who catches sight of the infinity illusion, this car is a remarkable compilation of imaginative automotive re-design and a demonstration of exceptional metalworking talent. The Body modifications started with a 48 super DXL. 42,000 mile (one owner car) The top was cut and chopped 3 1/2 then a modified all steel hand built top was fit to the rear beltline with 5" added between deck lid and cockpit opening. Five locating pins position the top and one allen bolt behind the rear view mirror secures it in place. The trunk floor was altered and accommodates a 25 gallon gas tank. Both front and rear bumper pans are rolled and hand formed with character lines to match the flow of the car. Tail lights and park lights were also hand worked to carry on the theme. French headlights, grille, fenders, running board and windshields keep the aerodynamics flowing. The hood has been lengthened 1' with a filled center strip. The dash board is fitted from a 49 Ford with tinted glass over the cluster. Also incorporated is a hidden center panel containing the accessory switches and Pioneer C.D. The window moldings were modified and swept into the dash (roadster style) and the air conditioning ducts were hand built to fit the dash. The 60/40 bender seat was altered to fold forward for rear access and to comfortably recline. The tops of the doors at the rear and fronts of quarters were cut and rolled inward to get better aerodynamic design flow. The leather interior and headliner was completely hand crafted. The 500 cubic inch cad engine has been color keyed to the interior and fitted with a hand built batwing air cleaner. Also installed was a lunati cam kit, Pertronix flame thrower ignition, 850 spread bore carb and jet coated headers. Bolted up behind is a modified 700R4 w/ overdrive trans. Mustang style front suspension with tubular A-arms, gas shock absorbers, power rack & pinion, disc brakes. Everything is pushed by a 9" ford rear end with triangular four bar coil spring holders and geared with a 3:25 positrac. Custom 2 1/2" exhaust with aero chamber mufflers makes her purr and a walker 4 cone radiator with 16' fan keeps it cool. The chrome wheels were custom built by Colorado Custom producing 16x7 fronts 4 1/2" B.S. 17"x13" 2 1/2" B.S. rears with 215x16 BF Goodrich and 345x55 BF Goodrich. Last but not least the refinishing is done in black base coat and four coats of clear. If you are showing, cruising or just collecting, this car leaves nothing to be desired. The excellent condition shown by its bottom to top and inside out restoration of this vehicle and its lower than market price, for a vehicle in this condition, makes it a perfect choice for getting into the classic car market either as an investment opportunity or as a weekend or daily driver. If you've wanted a beautifully restored and sporty super stylish car with all the muscle and guts it was born with and at an affordable price this is the one! Don't wait.
