Used 1949 MG TC EXU for sale in Westport, CT

Besides being fun, nimble and good looking, the MGTC is credited with beginning the sports car craze in the United States after World War II. Servicemen at the end of the war were bringing these cars back to the U.S. after the war starting sports car clubs and racing them. Most of the greatest race car drivers began in an MGTC. Drivers such as Sterling Moss, John Fitch, Carol Shelby, Miles Collier just to name a few. Of all the MG's, the TC has the most romance after staring in movies such as: "The Way We Were" with Barbara Streisand and Robert Redford and just for its good looks with its sexy lines and big wire wheels. This particular TC is an outstanding example with a really nice restoration. Finished in its original color of Clipper Blue and Vellum beige leather interior. Delivered new on January 13, 1949, this in no ordinary TC, besides its rare colors it is also an "EXU" model, one of just 300 produced. The EXU is a TC that was exported specifically for sale in the United States. EXU's have special bullet taillights on the gas tank, special EXU bumpers with MG medallion on the rear bumper and a rearranged dashboard with a temperature gauge to the right of the driver. Mechanically this car is completely rebuilt and it runs and drives extremely well. If you are looking for a TC it doesn't get any better than this.
