1952 Ford F100 Pickup In 1925, the Ford Motor Company introduced the first "pickup" based on the Model T Runabout. Ford offered the rear "pickup box" separately at their dealer parts department for $25.00. The box was then bolted onto the back of the vehicle as an accessory. Since the box was "picked up" at the parts department by the customer, the term "pickup" took hold for this style of vehicle. Perfect running boards connect the front and rear rounded fenders, and the bed is made from entirely new parts. Nice wide white sidewall thin tires adorn each corner and are capped by FORD stamped chrome moons. The tailgate works flawlessly, and a beautiful oak lined bed makes its way from the tailgate to the cab. Bumpers are nearly perfect and have an air of simplicity. Interior Swing open the brown vinyl and Vermillion painted metal doors, and you are immediately welcomed by a two-tone bench seat in dark brown, and cream stitched two tone. A beautifully restored Vermillion metal dash houses various pristine white gauges, essential knobs and a silver metallic painted speaker grille. The fully restored steering wheel and column fronts the dash. An aftermarket stereo hangs below the perfect dash, right next to the air venting/heater box. The floor is draped in thick long pile carpeting in flawless brown. Drivetrain A flip of the hood and you are gazing into a wonderful restored engine bay, which includes a fully rebuilt inline 6-cylinder engine, in correct color I might add. Bolted on back is a 3-speed manual transmission which throws power to a 3.92 rear axle. Undercarriage Frame off was the key word used here, and while it was off it was stripped, and powder coated. As the truck was reassembled, no expense was spared as it pertains to quality body mounts and hardware, suspension rebuild, brake lines and linings, and a like new exhaust system, all correct to original systems. Underside will be seen as nice as the topside, and it makes it abundantly clear that there are absolutely no issues. For an individual who just enjoys a nostalgic truck cruise in a truly original looking and correct truck, this could be it.
