Vehicle Description
1953 Ford F100 Serial No. F10D3R-23642 Single Family Ownership from New Lifelong California "Black Plate" Truck Meticulous Nut-And-Bolt Concours Restoration Equipped with Both Radio & Heater Options First Year F100 - The Most Famous Name in All of Trucks 215-ci "Cost Clipper" I6, 3-On-The-Tree, 3.92 Rear Axle Excellent Road Manners and Driving Characteristics The new F-1 pickup truck of 1948 was an important vehicle for Ford. Not only was it Ford's first new post-war vehicle, but it was also one of the first pickup trucks to be designed with both practicality and aesthetics in mind. A stylish body with incredible functionality, this was a truck that would be as comfortable driving down Main Street as it would be working on the farm. 1953 brought Ford's 50th anniversary and the newly redesigned F100, a tradition which would forever change the automotive industry. Among the Very Best Examples in Existence With single family ownership from new, offered here is simply put - one of the finest Ford F100s existence. Completed on the 29th of November in Glacier Blue, F10D3R-23642 was a known resident of Berkley, California. Locals could always find the truck parked at the family's gas station or automotive shop (Eddie Neff's) on University Ave. Eddie Neff's was a celebrated front-end shop in the area from 1929 until the mid-1980's - servicing everything from Fords to Ferraris. Both Eddie and his son Vern were the proprietors throughout the decades. After Vern closed the business, he and friends restored vehicles onsite (mostly Lotus racing cars), and there the truck was meticulously disassembled, photo documented restored over the span of several years. Fortunately, nearly the entire process was captured through photos, with stunning results. The current mileage of 1,260 represents the distance driven post-restoration. Now exquisitely finished in correct 1953 Coral Flame over coordinating vinyl upholstery, nearly every detail of the truck appears accurate and period authentic. Starting with a solid "California Car", the F100 retains excellent gaps, straight body, original spot welds, castings and number stamps, proper finishes, decals, metal tags, cloth wiring, etchings, fittings, equipment, and components throughout the entire vehicle. A correct 6-volt charging system has been retained, paired to all working electrical and safety equipment, including the radio. The engine's casting number EAA6015C properly corresponds; engine number REX58296 is stamped into the side. A high-quality example of a landmark Ford truck, it was briefly shown early after restoration in years past, while continuously remaining under family care with a current California registration.
